My cuddle for Stanley today as I think he's a misunderstood boy! Although he can be a bit strong on his lead to start with, he loves being out on his walk and is well behaved.Sadly, he lets himself down in kennels as he does like to bark - and it really is only his way of drawing attention to himself and making sure that he isn't forgotten in the midst of all the activity going on around him. Yesterday, after his dinner, he went back to his kennel, hopped up onto the bed and snuggled down on the blankets beautifully. This lovely boy just needs his chance. xx

Right, no red or green rectangle today which means she's a long stayer & definitely needs a foster home 😉

Roll on Saturday when we can pick him up & welcome him to his new sofa! Should I be nervous if it's quiet without him lol?

Reading the news that Finn 's old racing owner has been to visit him and clearly cares so much for him has brought a tear to my eye (well more that once actually). It's a really lovely story. xx

I went to see Finn and his wonderful family. Testament to the trust and to the kennels he has been given a fantastic life and he remains the cheeky chappie I always remembered. I took along photos, videos of him racing and even a trophy that he won for me on Boxing Day 2002. He has certainly enjoyed his retirement and turned happily into a couch potato. I will be going to see him again soon to take him for a walk ... I still haven't stopped smiling!! Thank you 🙂

  • Rory

    Over the Rainbow Bridge

Hi I know I shouldn't giggle but Geoff just went out the front door and it was really funny to hear Rory sliding around on the wooden flooring in his haste to get there. He didn't get there in time but leapt up at the porch door to try and see where Geoff had gone.

Thanks for everyones kind words about Rory. Last night and today we left him unmuzzled and alone with Lucy, our grey as his attitude and temperament have been so calm, placid and docile. He gets really excited and eager at walk times, is fascinated by the freedom of the garden and all the strange sounds, visitors and events going on around our home. He still leans into you and only this evening I was fussing Lucy and felt a gentle nudge followed by the "Lean" from Rory- that was all he wanted and he stayed that way, content for about 10 mins while Lucy was fussed. His limp has massively improved although he did overdo it a touch when I took him for a short trot to catch up with Lucy and meet my wife in the park tonight. Rory will be back at Daybreaks around 11ish on Saturday and hopefully someone will see the real him and be there to offer his forever home. He is a sweet dog constantly seeking reassurance and someone to love. It won't take too long from what we've seen since Saturday

I know & I love to help with the dogs who do need fostering. I just do seem to have a soft spot for these blues 🙂 all greyhounds are lovely though & our lives haven't been the same since Henry came into our lives. We just adore greyhounds (& little whippets 😉 )

Oh Honeypen - I can't send a blue girl out to foster - she is so very homeable! Fostering is only when we have a returnee, a long stayer, a poorly or we are too full at the kennels and she doesn't fit into any of these but thank you for the offer! 😉
