To TheBrownies, no one knows what the future holds, you have given them the best love and care for 2 years and even more by actually returning them so that someone else will get the joy of giving them the attention they deserve and that you can no longer provide through no fault of your own. Controversial comments are only usually aimed at the people who try to blame others for their mistakes, genuine returnees are from what I have read are given support as it is a very hard decision and time for both owners and dogs. I can understand that you are heartbroken and hope that you do take some comfort in knowing that others agree you did the right thing. I'm sending you my cuddle for today :p

Hi, I was just wondering how you arranged the visit to the primary school with your dog? I was just thinking how perfect one of my greyhounds would be for a project like this as she's so outgoing and so great with children. Just wondering! Thank you!

Thank you rumblesmom, it took a lot to actually post as I know sometimes there can be controversial comments on here, but after taking some advice decided to do it - to find out and see how they are doing and also to try and help them find a new home. They were a huge part of our lives for 2 years but unfortunately our work just went crazy. If I knew when we homed them that this would be how it ended up I wouldn't have taken them in - purely to avoid the change. But they have given us so much love in our home that I don't regret taking them for a second - I just hope that they find a forever home soon, and I hope they are still behaving in their foster home too xx

Stanley is a lovely boy, he really enjoys being out on his walk and enjoys a cuddle. He can be a bit vocal at times, particularly when he's waiting for his supper, but he 's just making sure that he's not forgotten! My lovely Stanley, I really hope your forever home is just around the corner. xx

Clover is such a sweet little girl, her tail hardly stops wagging! She walks beautifully on the lead, and loves a cuddle and fuss - she stares deeply into your eyes and just melts your heart. What a stunner. Good luck girly, I really hope you won't be with us very long. xx

Blue & Ben,made another trip to Hatchford Brook school today to meet the nursery children, to help teach them how to look after dogs. The children took turns to brush and stroke them and had plenty of questions to ask us including how many teeth do they have? 42 I replied, luckily I googled it the night before! We covered feeding, coats, vets, ear cleaning,toothbrushes/teeth cleaning, shampoo/washing,vaccinations,vets,exercise/walking,toys and treats. The children loved them and the feeling it gives you is great, and reminds you how lucky we are to have them.

    I’m Homed

Hello, Thank you to everyone who has commented on my lovely new boy Louis, officially a member of the family as of Monday 11th 🙂 Can I apologise to everyone who left so many lovely comments on Louis's thread, I tried countless times to login and reply, but had probs with my login info. In desperation I emailed Ruth yesterday for help! It seems the password was playing up, so now I have a new one - which works! Anyway, update on my big bag of bones boy, he is coming on really well, putting weight on and eating a little less eagerly - well a LITTLE less! His tail is starting to recover from all the dry hard scabs and signs of tufts of fur are beginning to come through. We're now working on the bonny bald thighs bits, Ruth recommended Yumeega, flax oil etc with Omega's 3 and 6, I think the oils will really help him. (This is instead of the one I bought from the chemists last week). He's also having a probiotic (Biocare - quality stuff, recommended) which we are all on, great for his tum and natural bugs in there etc.) Michelle and Bertie, can I just say, how much I agree with your comment about keeping a coat on while he out walking. I'm really glad it is coat weather, I would feel the same sense of shame if people saw me out with him in his poor state. As you say, in a few months he will be gleaming and healthy and I can show him off 'naked' 🙂 He and Ellie are firm friends now, and from a pretty scared boy he is gaining more trust, he's off the vets this afternoon for a thorough MOT, so we'll see how that goes. On the personality side of things, he is a happy boy and loves playing with his cuddly toys, is gaining confidence, and is VERY loving and kind - perfect !! x Best wishes from Sam, Lou and Ellie xx

Hope big Bertie had a good first night in his new home. After 2 weeks you will start to see the 'real' dog coming out & that is wonderful & can be very funny too. I spent long time trying to get Henry used to the Hoover only to discover he tries to play with it!
