Dingo
I’m Homed
Dingo went to bed without any fuss last night and when we came down in the morning he was still lying on his bed. He has had no accidents and has been good as gold. We have just got back from a 50 minute brisk walk around the park and hope that, with a 20 minute walk in the morning, will keep him settled while we are at work tomorrow. Also, love the surprise of seeing him run around the garden off his lead for the first time today (that must be what wears him out enough to sleep all night and most of the day). Loving been a first time dog owner 🙂

Buddy (Arthur)
I’m Homed
Buddy has been clean and dry in the house for all of the six weeks we have had him but today spent a penny on the carpet in one of our downstairs rooms, he had already been for a walk and out in the garden, I have cleaned the carpet with biological washing powder, does anyone have any ideas why he might of done it, we were in the house at the time. We regularly leave him while at work for 6hours and he is ok.

Yeuna (Sooty)
Over the Rainbow Bridge
Yeuna was a little diamond at Mell Square yesterday, met lots of people and lots of little children and was brilliant with them all! She had some photos taken again and some long hugs with people who said they'd take her now but............. She especially enjoyed Mary's regular treats but really enjoyed the experience. All in all there seemed to be a lot of interest this time so hopefully some (or even most) of the greys will find their forever homes soon!

Belle
Over the Rainbow Bridge
Thanks Sarah. I know that Ruth and all the volunteers do a fantastic job. And I will continue to visit the website. It's a shame I'm not ready to rehome another grey myself just yet. I'm hoping to reduce my workng hours later in the year - then guess what - I will give another beautiful grey a forever sofa!! My last grey was fawn so that's what upset me so much about Belle and Boo. She is so gorgeous I'm sure she will be snapped up soon. xxx

Rory
Over the Rainbow Bridge
I just wanted to say I hope that someone who is thinking of homing Rory isn't put off. Everyone at Daybreaks helps to find the right home for a greyhound and it can't work out everytime as it hasn't in Rory's foster home. I am new to owning greyhounds and made mistakes with Walter and he had to tell me quite firmly before I realised we had been stressing him out with all our cuddles. Now I understand his boundaries & stop the moment he tells me something is worrying him. This happens less & less now & he is a proper fuss-pot! Obviously something's are harder to sort out & in this case it was clearly too much for Rory but that isn't a negative thing. In my mind that's part of the reason lovely people help out by offering foster homes. It helps dogs to find the right home, whether that's without kids & other pets. It will just mean that when Rory's new owner comes along they will have lots of information about him & hopefully understand him. Good luck Rory you sound like you will be a perfect match for someone willing to take a bit if time to listen to you. Xxx

Marco
Over the Rainbow Bridge
Good morning! It's Mother's Day today &, I feel, that includes more people than purely the mothers of children. There are so many people at Daybreaks who work tirelessly for all in their care, they give comfort when a dog is nervous, provide care after an operation, go to Daybreaks come rain or shine, in the freezing cold, when experiencing personal problems & heartache & when they are feeling unwell. They raise money to provide food & shelter for the dogs, they visit homes to ensure an animal will be well looked after in a home & are always there to support when needed. We thank all who are connected to Daybreaks-you make a difference in the world. I've not much to report about Marco yesterday because I swanned off to Crufts for the day! As each day passes he relaxes a little more. I highly recommend you meet Marco-he is lovely. Helen x

Bert
Over the Rainbow Bridge
I took Bert to the Mell Square roadshow yesterday. He was golden. He jumped straight in the back of the car. Had a bit of a look out of the window then lay down and went to sleep. Bert was such a good boy at the roadshow. This boy is used to kennel life all of sudden he is in Mell Square next to a carousel covered in lights playing music, a singer with his speakers up to full volume. Bert took it all in his stride. There were lots of people and young children that wanted to fuss him. Bert was so patient and an absolute star with everyone. There were a couple of spaniels in the square Bert had a look at them but did not seem phased. He was brilliant travelling back and was ready for a well deserved nap. Bert is fantastic grey and loves people. I'm hoping his forever home is just round the corner.

Pete
I’m Homed
We brought Pete home for fostering today, so far he's been very good with the cat and had a good sniff around everywhere. He's very friendly with our 2. It's his first time in a home so as you'd expect he's very excited and interested in everything but he doesn't seem nervous or phased by any of it. He's now settled on a bed in the lounge with the rest of us
