Please don't let Spottys age put you off giving her a loving home. Our second grey, Betsy, was 9 years old when we adopted her and she gave us such wonderful times and memories, the "oldies" are always extra special, we said goodbye to our darling girl last year at the grand old age of 14 and a half. She gave us such love and Spotty will also give lots of love in her forever home, believe me if the Williams house wasn't ready to burst I would take her like a shot.

Oh, Ruth I am so sorry to hear the news about Spotty and too about Davey and Nora. I wish them all well in finding a new home soon, I wait every week for a big win on the lottery as if I did I could help more greyhounds. I hope others will think about the oldies and that they still have a lot of love to give for the rest of their lives. Wishing Spotty well for today.

Poor Nora, I guess it can't be much fun having to wear a lamp shade, not good for her street cred! Hope she doesn't upset her wound. xxx

Poor Patrick has just come back from a trial in a home where he has been since Saturday. Sadly he had separation anxiety and was toileting in the house. We have paired him up with Tina and he has settled back in and seems very content with his new friend.

If you prefer not to clean their teeth yourself you can get a pot of Neem Bark from the kennels to put in their food, it helps heal gum disease and softens plaque so you can rub it off - if you do use a brush you can dip that into the Bark and gently rub it directly onto their teeth 🙂 We've had some great results with it and I give it my dogs daily to keep their teeth sparkly 🙂 Julie

Davey
I’m Homed
Please please please - someone please give Davey a chance. He is such a loving boy - settled at night (just takes himself off to his bed), good with other greys and larger dogs and getting better with smaller ones. He is a bit strong on the lead but a harness helps with this. He used to be very food aggressive but I have taught him not to snatch and he is very good whilst eating with my 6 and Nora and will wait patiently to see if there are any leftovers. He loves to play with his toys and will entertain himself throwing the toys around for a short while and then settles again. He knows commands such as 'on your bed' and is a very clever boy. His main problem is being behind bars of any type which is why I have got him at home. If in a kennel or run, he becomes aggressive with those he doesn't know - but out of this environment he is loving, gentle and laid back as I have found out. Because of this, I wouldn't advise that he lives in a home with children where there may be stairgates or something similar. He would suit the company of another dog and would be a faithful companion to anyone who gave him a chance. If you are interested or would like to view him - I am happy for people to see him at our house - please please get in touch. He is getting too settled into our routine and I don't want to upset him by letting him get used to our life and then be uprooted again...... This fella is 8 this year and really deserves a home to call his own. x
