I’m Homed
Our Friday team was a bit depleted today due to illness and holidays, but fortunately as we are a bit low on residents at the moment, everything ran smoothly. Thank you to Dave and our students Adam, Libby & Amelia for all your hard work today. The sand run was very popular today as although the promised sunshine didn't appear, it was quite warm. Newbies Tina & Joey are so very sweet - Joey is a big handsome fella, and Tina is a little bundle of energy. You wouldn't think that both are on restricted exercise as they recover from broken bones someone - needs to tell them!! Lunchtime saw the arrival of the lovely Blossom. She is a sweet girl but a bit bewildered at the moment as she finds herself in a strange place with strange people!! Here's hoping she has a good first night and starts to settle in soon. x As I am typing this, the boys & girls are settling down for the evening and we are well on the way to closing the kennels for the night. Well the weekend is here again, time really is flying by it's crazy. I shall be raising a glass or two a little later on to toast our new arrivals, our current boys & girls and send best wishes to all our doggies currently out in foster homes and hope that forever homes may soon be theirs. I would also like to take the opportunity to send lots of healing thoughts to Ruth who is sadly feeling poorly again - get better soon, we miss you. xx Whatever you are up to this weekend enjoy and as always, stay safe. Mikey is with me as foster. He's à lovely boy, walks well on lead, clean in house, sleeps through the night. Mikey has started to play, lovely to see. His leg is alot better. Someone is going to be very lucky to have such a funny lovable boy that gives lots of kisses. ????????

Daybreaks Diary!

It was lovely to meet our two new arrivals Tina and Joey this morning. :)) We have another young lady arriving tomorrow. Xxx Lucy had a couple of pampers today. Great to see Danny again, he smelt so good after his bath! Xxx It was a warm day and everyone enjoyed their walks. Mikey had a great time racing around the sand run. :)) Many thanks to our visitors today who brought in donations of bedding, food and treats. It was good to see Janet and Roger, long time Daybreaks supporters who are soon off to live by the seaside! Xx We are very grateful for everything we are given! Xxx. We did a blanket swap today with Cramar Cat Rescue :)) They gave us blankets that were a too big for their cat beds and we gave them the blankets that were too small for our Greyhounds beds! Thanks to Yvonne for organising it for us. Xxx I am very grateful to everyone for assisting with cutting my Skip's nails today! He really isn't a happy boy where his feet are concerned and wriggles all over the place! It was a team effort! Declan and James picked him up, I stopped him from waving his feet around, CJ talked to him and Lucy cut his nails!! :))))) Bless him! It's the least stressful way to trim his nails and is all over within a couple of minutes. Xxx Xxx

Met Joey today...wow he's just a super stunner. He is so playful and friendly, he decided I needed a wash and proceeded to give frantic kisses so much I just sat there laughing at his antics. Whoever adopts this lad will be getting one very happy hound. He certainly made me smile xx

Billy continues to get braver. He is so excited to see us when we come downstairs in the morning but it’s just a bit too much to actually come out through the lounge door even though his whole back end is wagging. Once we go in to the lounge to him, he is full of love and cuddles. He’s slowly getting more relaxed out on walks but it’s a very slow process. He is starting to realise that medium sized dogs are ok to get near and sniff (cautiously) but little dogs……what on earth are they???!! And other humans may not be quite so frightening after all but he’s still not risking getting too close. Billy is one adorable dog xxx
