Daybreaks Diary!

What a crazy manic day it turned out to be, I thought my head was going to explode! Thanks to everyone for their help today, I really appreciate it. We had one homing booked for Joy, now Nala, good luck little girl. There was a viewing for Paddy, now Tristram, his family have homed from us before and very sadly lost their lovely boy a few weeks ago and their two girly greys wanted a brother for company. Billy was bright and playful this morning, he does get nervous if there are lots of people around. A massive thanks to his lovely foster family (who have fostered several nervous hounds before and helped them become more confident) for taking him home this afternoon, he was a little reluctant to go but will have three 'friends' to show him the ropes. It was one of their dogs birthdays today, happy birthday Rigsby, and they had all had sausages, there was some saved for Billy, I'm sure he won't find them too scary! Lorna had several pampers today, its great to see the dogs looking and smelling so beautiful when they emerge from the bathroom, some like it more than others. All the residents, or what was left of them had morning and afternoon walks, the weather stayed dry for the most part. Massive thanks to Liz for taking Mikey the Younger out for a big adventure, he went to Brueton park, the nature reserve and shopping, although Liz didn't come back with a new coat, it seems Mikey couldn't decide which one she should choose (I think he just wants to go shopping again)! It's always fantastic to hear how they get on and how much their confidence improves over a couple of trips out. The Halloween Howl tickets are now available to buy at the kennels and online. If you have a problem with online ordering please give the kennels a call and we will happily take payment over the phone. It promises to be a greyt second event for the kennels. Please come along if you can, it is all in aid of the hounds. Well, as always, take care and stay safe. X

Huge thanks to Elizabeth for taking Mikey out today. He is a real favourite at the kennels, such an intelligent boy who picks things up quickly and I think would really enjoy training & stimulation to occupy him. Still a youngster with so much life ahead of him and so much to give - he does give out lovely kisses. Fingers crossed for you my darling that your very own special forever home comes along soon. xxxx

Hi everyone, Joy is now Nala. She has been in her new home a couple of hours and is currently spark out on the rug in the kitchen. She has eaten the food we put down for her and appears to be so comfortable and relaxed. She's met our cat Salem and she greeted him with a wagging tail! We are all in love!

Mikey came to Brueton Park with me today. He was an absolute star from beginning to end. I went in to lead him up and he was that excited that he just span on his bed for a few minutes. He is such a happy boy. Once he had calmed down, I leaded him up and off we went. He jumped in the car happily and lay down immediately. He traveled quietly and waited patiently when I opened to boot to get out. We did several laps of the park and the nature reserve and he behaved impeccably. He didn't seem fazed by anything, despite the fact that the park was full of people, runners, cyclists and dogs. We also took a stroll through Solihull town centre. He helped me look for a new coat in a couple of shops and braved the lift in Mountain Warehouse to the first floor, but then came down the stairs on the way out. He was amazing through out his entire trip out and I really hope someone falls in love with him soon. He is such good company and is a real pleasure to be with xx
