Well, Warrior, aka Steve is so loving, he comes up and pushes my laptop off my knees so he can rest his head on me and gaze into my eyes. If I move he follows me around the house. I would like to think it's because He loves me so much he cannot bear me out of his sight, but I am a realist and accept that I am the bringer of FOOD, and he knows I have many places it is hidden from him! so if he follows me enough he may just discover some lol So far he has been testing out what is edible and what is not. A tub of birdseed all over the living room carpet evidently was not, even though he has seen the birds enjoying it !!! A bowl of dried potpourri was only good for crunching up not eating it seems, and a few mixed flavour tea bags went the same way. I have spent time teaching him not to snatch and swallow a sausage whole !! and that if a chew is still in Fat Neck Finns mouth, he has NOT finished with it yet even if he does let you have it, and he is learning. They swap beds constantly now, without any grumbles and even lie close together on the carpet, and if Stevie thinks I have been a bit cross with him he will go and lie behind Finn and wag his tail at me LOL He is very sweet and I am hoping he will realise he doesn't have to search for food constantly or steal things as there is always a plentiful supply at mealtimes. he is now laying at my feet in case I sneak out to the kitchen without him God love him xx

Daybreaks Diary!

Another very quiet day for visitors - but thanks to the fabulous Friday Team our boys & girls had 2 lovely long walks, and we got stuck in to some major sorting and tidying leaving the back area and bedding store neat & tidy, toys sorted & washed, carpets swept and Dave tackled the driveway and car park again. Phew! Mid morning saw the arrival of the beautiful little Tess. Such a happy, bouncy girl she was playing with a toy in the run whilst her arrival paperwork was being sorted. She was such a good girl in the bath, and really enjoyed being out on a walk, exploring all the new and exciting things around her. At only 2 and a half she is just like a big puppy, and when Bella went to sit in the kennel with her, she ambushed Bella and was jumping all over her, racing round & round and generally having a mad moment!! I think it's what we call "character"!! The returnees Annie & Porsche have settled back into kennel life, and though it is sad things haven't worked out for them this time, I am sure the right home will be out there for them both as they are such lovely girls. Well it's the weekend again! I shall raise a glass of red wine later to toast our lovely boys & girls and hope for a few more red signs outside the kennels very soon. I’ve just been to see Roxie in her new home. She’s very settled and happy with Audrey, in fact you’d think she had been there for years! A very lucky hound indeed ????

I had a call today from Roxie's owner. It was lovely to hear that has settled really well, found the sofa, met lots of new people out on her walks, been and visited people and is being a really good girl. She is such a happy little girl. X

Chino was neutered earlier this week so has been resting ready for when he goes home at the weekend. Sending him my cuddle tonight Xxx His new Mum has told us his new name will be Percy! Xxx

Daybreaks Diary!

Molly went off to her new home today. :)) She came into the office to choose new coats! She was such a happy little soul and was interested in everything around her....sure she will have been very excited to explore her new home. :)) Do hope all goes well. It's been a pleasure to have her at the kennels Xxx Sadly things didn't turn out well for Annie this time. She is a smashing little girl, I'm sure her forever home will soon come along. Xxx Lucy was busy with pampers today. It was great to see Val and her beautiful girl Luna again. :)) Lucy's other client was a nervous little girl who took some persuading to come into the kennels. Xx Bless her. Xxx Thanks so much to everyone who donated bedding today and to all our walkers, it was a nice day and just right for walking. :)) Thank you to everyone for all your help today. Xxx Thanks to Richard and Declan for all their help with much needed repairs around the kennels. We are so grateful. Xxx The Daybreaks residents would like me to send a big Thank you and lots of love to Dolly's Mum who brought in a freshly cooked chicken for them this week. It gave them three lovely chicken dinners each. Libby is especially grateful as she had not been eating very well and it gave her a real boost. :)) Xxx Xxx

Sadly Annie has come back to Daybreaks today. 🙂 Unfortunately she and the family's other girl Greyhound were not getting along. They were very upset and said Annie is a lovely girl and so affectionate. They hope she finds her forever home as soon as possible and are sad it can't be with them. Xxx

I went to the vets!! Don’t worry it was only a booster… i don’t know why I have to go to that horrible Place! All they do is stick needles in you. I refused to go in but didn’t have a lot of choice. The vet said I have very good teeth and I’m the perfect weight. I’m in good condition too! Yay! Hoomans have given me sardines for being a good boy! Yum Monty Xx

Daybreaks Diary!

Thanks today to Denise, Dave, Chris and the Wednesday walkers. Sadly Porsche was returned today, she is great with kids, cats and other dogs. She already had a viewing booked. The inmates had morning and afternoon walks apart from Molly and Chino who are both post op after their neuterings. Thanks for the donations of bedding. The chickens got their house back today, the floor had dried enough for them to move back home! They did however spend the day outside basking in the little Sun we had. As always stay safe and well everyone. X
