Over the Rainbow Bridge
Bit of a long shot but wondering if there is anyone in the Daybreaks family who is looking after greyhounds at the moment. Big fawn boy who needs someone who is greyhound savvy - he is big,(very often needs to reverse out of spaces), just needs his bed, toys to cuddle, feeding, a couple of 20 min walks and generally left alone to potter around the house/garden. Ideally someone who is currently without a grey, he is fine out and about with greys but has never lived with another one in a house environment and definitely no cats. I've been let down by my arranged home stay for 31 Aug to 2 Sept so I can attend my nephew's wedding. Thanks for reading. Sue and Tom x

We've just got Charlie back home as a fully fledged member of the family. We took him for a walk towards the airport flyover before we went so he could toilet. And then we got wet on the way back so had to pop him in for a towel dry, which I think confused him a bit. He stayed lying down in the boot the whole hour drive back. We're glad we gave Charlie the chance to see if he could settle with us as he's a gorgeous boy, very easy to feed, has enjoyed every walk so far and likes his people. He's going on his holibobs with us next month and we're hopefully taking him to our local tomorrow evening - weather dependant! He's still getting up at greyhound kennels time, but 5:30 this morning, so he's getting later. So glad he's now one of the family as he's filled the void left by little Kylie (and Lucy and Ben). Thanks Ruth also for your support when we've needed advice over the years for Lucy and Ben, who weren't even Perry Barr dogs. All the best x

By Faye Ah what a lovely boy Harry is . He just loves pottering outside while we are in the garden . He’s been following Ben round while he’s been weeding the garden and is such good company . Had his first encounter with a small pooch the other day whilst walking with Ben . As expected excitable but nothing we haven’t experienced before with our previous hounds so far! He just is a very happy soul! Thank you daybreaks xx

First of all thanks for the lovely comments on the last post! Today we went to the beach. On the way back yesterday a lovely man with 2 greyhounds was outside his caravan and he came out to give me fuss and treats. I love him already. I went straight to the caravan today to see if he was there as I want my fuss and treats! Nope he wasn’t just the greyhound. I don’t want the greyhound I want fuss and treats!!! Monty Xx

Oh, I do so hope some kind person will offer Mikey and Lady a home together. He was such a sweet happy boy when we saw him on Sunday, and I almost got licked within an inch of my life every time I went past his run. Lady lay watching him with a look of adoration. Having had 4 Grey's at one time I think this 6-year-old duo would be a joy . Life begins at forty they say for us humans and I think age 6 for greyhounds is the same. Young enough to still adapt to change but like 40 yr olds, old enough to appreciate a good home lol and life certainly began anew when they arrived at Daybreaks. Fingers crossed x

Molly came back to the kennels after staying with Ruth last night after having her neutering operation. She was absolutely fine and very happy to see everyone. She just loves cuddles. Xxx
