    Over the Rainbow Bridge

Kirsty has been home with me every night this week and has been the perfect house guest. We have our 6, Tina our friend's dog and Red and she has got on fantastically with them all. She is totally housetrained and sleeps all night and loves her food. She has never tried to steal any food off the side even when it has been left out just to see what she would do! She has met Sara's dogs Charlie and Cracker who are non greys and is brilliant with them. I hope someone falls in love with her soon.

    I’m Homed

Huggie came home with me tonight as he is coming to the Solihull roadshow tomorrow to show how handsome he is.He has met the cats and although seemed a little interested at first, a sharp no was all it took to divert his interest, he is now ignoring them. He has had a lovely run around the garden and is very well behaved, greeting us often with a very waggy tail and lots of licks, shame the Williams house is full or I would be so tempted, someone out there is going to get a wonderful companion, fingers crossed someone falls in love with him tomorrow.

I just love her face. She always reminds me of those pharoh hounds I have seen in my history books. I guess it's just that shape and posture. 🙂 x

totally agree with you ruth- our male dog duffy was totally freaked out by my grandson when we first had him especially if he squealed or cried- you gave us alot of support and the answer for us was stair gates so that the dogs could go and have sanctuary in the kitchen we also played tapes of babies and children laughing and crying all the time in the background- slowly we introduced the 2 together and now they love each other- my granson oliver lies on the beds with the dogs and they follow him around constantly-also i found it,s the way you react with the two together the dog always looks to you for direction-plus i loved duffy so much i was willing to try for as long as poss to make it work

    I’m Homed

So glad Neil had the chance to take Marnie to see her Auntie Ruth last week. I'm hoping that we can put the video of her playing in the garden on here somehow, or at least leave a link. It's so lovely to see her so happy. She's still shy, especially of other dogs, but is learning to make friends slowly but surely. She's part of our family (right now she is throwing her toy goose round the house!), and we love her loads. PS. Really hoping Fire gets a forever home soon, he's still one of our favourite boys x Best wishes to all at Daybreaks (I'm wearing my hoodie where ever I can to advertise 🙂

  • Buddy (Arthur)

    I’m Homed

Arthurs still coming on leaps and bounds literally lol. He interacts with us alot more. He spends most of his time on his bed in the lounge. He's happy when a friend of ours pops in with his springer cross. Seems to get along with all the dogs we've met. He's a little too interested in the puppy jack russell by us. But I don't think he realises she's a dog, not a rabbit lol. He loves to paddle in the stream and has the most gorgeous greyhound smile, which he greets you with when you come back from the shops. Hoping to upload some new photos soon. Also he enjoys some sardines in the morning and has a passion for peanut butter kongs.

  • Bob

    I’m Homed

Thank you Shanesmum & RedDuke. I can't wait for him to properly settle down and all his character to come out - last night he was on his bed....came into living-room, pinched a cushion off of the sofa and put it on his bed to rest his head on! I am definitely considering renaming him Muffin though as he is just sooo stubborn 🙂 Bob has his own FB page - I set it up so as not to clog up my wall - and friends' feeds - with all his updates and achievements and also to enable his Daybreak friends to see how he is getting on. If you go on the Perry Barr Retired Greyhound Trust's page, you will see a comment from him.....I'll add anyone who wants to friend request him.

Agree 100% with RedDuke (and not just because he's my husband!!) Bob was such a star and I'm so happy that he has taken to his new home so well. Your updates on him are fabulous and its great to hear about his exploits - all the best to you both. x

  • Maddie (Fury)

    Over the Rainbow Bridge

Maddie is limping and has a small (tiny) tear on her front pad which we assume is a foreign object, glass or thorn. She isn't crying out and there is no sign of infection. She will let us soak it and inspect it with tweezers etc, although flinches if we apply too much pressure. We can't see anything but there has to be something there. Are here any tips before we resort to the vets
