Oh Larry I am so happy to see you have a home. Despite your little incidents whilst you stayed with us we loved you dearly. It really has made my day seeing this. I hope you have a wonderful time in your new home Larry, you really deserve it.

Hi Sylv, glad to hear you and the clan are well. Have had to have more treatment on my leg recently, but meant I could spend more time at home with Twiggy who is as beautiful as ever, but getting very bored with the Olympics. She is fed up of hearing "Hang on Twiggs, just want to watch this bit, then we will go for a walk!" As a retired "athlete" you would think she would understand... Love to you all, Kate xxx

We have had Caspar for nearly a year.Time has flown. He's very happy and settled. Long walks in the fields have given him muscle tone to die for which is all the more clear to see as a black dog with a shiny coat! Think he's more grey in the muzzle now though - must be the stress of living with us! He's an attention seeker and loves his cuddles. Will do just about anything for a treat as those who go to Julie's Saturday training session can testify. In fact, he happily eats anything going - and has eaten all of the strawberries growing in the garden, plus he's chewed up flower pots and is rather partial to the odd glove, which unlike Norris, he prefers to socks. If I dig the garden, he will come and join in. He hasn't managed to identify weeds from plants yet though (more training needed...) Despite his irrepressable appetite, he has settled as one of the family and we all love having him around. He just needs a brother or sister to live with now.... have considered 'fostering' another greyhound, but husband saw straight through me!

caroline she is amazing! The most beautiful little girl you could wish to meet! Her piccy does her no justice. She is lovely with the other greys, the only time ive heard a peep out of her is when shes waiting for her walk, she is a bit stressed in kennels and i hope she finds a home very soon. She reminds me so much of my lucy id lover her for myself... But i have my quota at 3, an to be honest. i was pushing my luck with the 3rd! xxxx

Hi Caz & Max, I have just spoken to her trainer to find out about her temperament during her racing and she was great being kennelled with a male or female. She has been really good at the kennels since she arrived and has met Cracker and Charlie (non greyhounds) belonging to Sara and she does not react. She sounds perfect for you but come along and see what you think x Ruth (sorry used the computer when skinnyme was logged in!)

  • Norris

    Over the Rainbow Bridge

Oh yes... he is adorable! Since seeing the squirrel, he's always on the look-out at that point in our walk and Sunday, he spotted a discarded McDonalds bag in the middle of the road. Well you never know... it might move so one has to be vigilant and stare at it just in case! Bless him. And then there is the sock thing....having learned not to leave them lying around, I had an armful destined for the wash and I must have dropped one as I passed through the dogs room on the way to the kitchen..... he was there and nabbed it and ran to his bed with the booty! He gives things up easily though (unlike Lena....read on) Which brings me neatly onto Friday night at Solihull Riding Club. We took Lola and Lena for a run in the indoor school so Norris came along to make a guest appearance 🙂 Didn't run of course, but he had a stroll round the car park, came inside briefly to say hello to all of the other greys and their owners before retiring to the back of Paul's car. Hope he didn't see Lena grab someone's honking duck toy from under their arm and then refuse to give it back even for some stinky treats. Norris is getting stronger on his leg all the time, and keeping the walks steady seems to be really working for him. We just have to hope that what's going on under the skin matches what we are seeing so he can go to his new family in just under 2 weeks time. x

Oh Fire, how good it felt that you have not forgotten me! That constant wagging of your tail and rubbing your face on my leg just melt my heart. I've enjoyed our short walk and I know you did too coz you just continue looking at me waiting for a signal whether we will go for. Jog or a quick run (like we used to do). I hope you've enjoyed your treats too. The most difficult part today was leaving you. You did me proud when you showed me that you haven't forgotten all the things I've taught you. Well done my boy, mywonderrful Fire. Love you, Myrna
