Luna and Lyric both being homed. That makes me very happy and helps me remember how there are very kind people in the world which just about cancels out the evilness of how some of these dogs are treated. Yo luna ! Yo lyric ! X

Every time I see dogs returned like Joey I can't help but think how very lucky they are to have the kennels, Ruth and such wonderful volunteers to come back to. Too many dogs don't even have that. Good luck Joey and have a pasty for me.

Thanks for the tip Foggie. He is coping with it at the moment apart from bumping into the furniture (and us) when he's moving round wearing it! So we will see how he goes. We can take it off at night mainly when we are with him as he's mostly fast asleep and dreaming so all thoughts of licking the wound are gone, and also while Paul is sitting with him during the day and he's dozing (Norris not Paul!) he will take it off. Any sign of intention to lick and it's back on. Bless. He's a good patient. xx

  • Billy

    I’m Homed

Sorry Deb, I've only just seen your message...well Billy is such a star (I've been putting pictures and messages on the Daybreaks Face book page) I'd say it took him about 4 days to start to be really settled and each day he's getting his "spark" back, it's been a joy to see, today's first was a lovely lick on my nose! He's clean in the house, gets on with my greys and loves my 2 older boys, he doesn't react to non greys, he said a nice hello to a spaniel today, just looked to me for reassurance. He's not an obviously nervous dog, he'll go straight up to unknown people for fuss, he just wants to feel he's a good boy, which means he tries really hard to please...I will give Ruth the full low down on Thursday when he's back at kennels (poor Ruth, I have lots to gush about!) we have loved having him here and will miss him very much...we hope he won't be in kennels very long, he really deserves a forever home x

I took Jack to the park again today as the weather was perfect for getting action shots. He had a fabulous time zooming around and his recall is good when he isn't in selective hearing mode. Here are some photos I took of him when he was running about: https://i1045.photobucket.com/albums/b460/Remint/Foster%20Greyhounds/003.jpg https://i1045.photobucket.com/albums/b460/Remint/Foster%20Greyhounds/004.jpg https://i1045.photobucket.com/albums/b460/Remint/Foster%20Greyhounds/005.jpg https://i1045.photobucket.com/albums/b460/Remint/Foster%20Greyhounds/006.jpg https://i1045.photobucket.com/albums/b460/Remint/Foster%20Greyhounds/007.jpg https://i1045.photobucket.com/albums/b460/Remint/Foster%20Greyhounds/008.jpg https://i1045.photobucket.com/albums/b460/Remint/Foster%20Greyhounds/009.jpg Sorry if the images are a bit pixelly, I didn't realise at the time that my camera settings weren't quite correct. Jack has been such a fantastic foster dog and I am so happy to have met him, he really is such a special guy. I wish him lots of luck in his new home and I hope he has a fantastic life there, he really does deserve it.

If the lamp shade drives him mad you could try customising an old cotton tee shirt that covers the wound but isn't too tight. Good luck to Norris xx
