Just love Spirit, he has so much feeling behind those eyes. IF you haven't met him yet, when y ou go up to kennels be sure to give him a cuddle and take him for a walk, he is so lovely. Think he wonders when his forever home will come. I'm sure it's not far off now Spirit. Big hugs.

Grace
I’m Homed
Met Grace and Monty yesterday, they are both absolutely gorgeous, really, their fur was so soft especially Monty. With the right person they'll be fine I'm sure. If it's any help to anybody and I know it's not quite the same, I had a rescur cat which hid from me for the first week at home, but I just let her get on with it and waited till she came to me. Now sleeps cuddled up to me of a night time. Just lots of love and patience. If I win the lottery I,m going to have four. x x

Hi Sharon Check out, Bark Inn Greyhound Resting Kennels, they are in Atherstone, not far from coventry - about 20 mins if im right ? - they are fantastic, both Gordon and Michelle who run the kennells are lovely and very experienced with Greys ! and their prices are far more realistic than many other boarding kennels, our two went in at Easter and came out looking as they went in ! - give them a call on 0782 8609201 check out their website, https://thebarkinngreyhound-resting-kennels.co.uk/index.html -

hi we bought a tourer a few years ago to accomodate our very large lurcher & springer,we got a four birth but with an l shaped lounge to give the dogs more floor space to lie in,be carefull if dogs sleep in awning unless in a crate as no awning can seem to be made escape proof.xx

Hello Honey's mum, Ruth is right you do get what you pay for and not all policies will continue cover for illness/accidents after the first year even after renewal. I'm with More Than I have both my greys covered it costs me about £60 per month but given that one of them recently had to have a spleenectomy which came to over £2,500 its money well spent. I do have the top cover but they also do a slightly cheaper option. I pay a £70 excess plus 10% of cost thereafter. We're back at the vets today as Boogie has tweaked her back and will need xrays as the pain relief given yesterday isn't working......at the end of the day I have peace of mind knowing that any illness/accidents are covered.

Hesky
I’m Homed
Recently, i've been thinking partly about Hesky and generally about all of the wonderful dogs that pass through your rehoming kennels. In our house, we've got a place in our heart and, with a bit of moving furniture round, an extra space on the sofa for another greyhound (at some point soon, in the next couple of months, hopefully) What clicked to me the other day though.... when a person takes one of your dogs to their new forever home, well then there'll be another space for yet another needy dog at Daybreaks. So, in effect by adopting one dog you are, in essence, giving a life and some much needed hope to two dogs. Now that really IS a feelgood factor ! :O)

Hi Honey's mum, Insurance is a complicated thing as we all know with household and car insurance! The cheaper insurance policies are generally cheaper because they pay out less and this is something to look for. I have always insured mine with Petplan - yes - it is very pricey but all of mine have had everything covered - Tara had 3 dentals with extractions and were all covered. The problem is when you switch insurance companies then any pre-existing complaints can't be covered. If you want to give me a call please do. Alternatively if you wanted some advice from Andre who is the vet who attends to the greys at Perry Barr he is very reasonable with his fees and is based out towards Tamworth (worth a journey) tel: 01827 288888. I am at the RGT Conference today so am unfortunately unavailable but if you want to call me, please do x

Carrie
Over the Rainbow Bridge
I have managed to reduce the poo , simply by feeding her less than the recommended amount of food for a great dane !! , I was a bit stupid there , but an email to Jill sorted that one out. I have also managed to stop her getting on my desk , by simply giving her daytime access to another room with a low window , when Jill said she was probably getting bored during the day as Im still keeping her muzzle on when im out , shes now found an armchair in the bedroom which she loves and claimed as her own and the window has a picture window seat which both Carrie and Teddy love to watch the world go by , I call it their Widescreen TV. But , she HATES , shall I say it again she HATES the rain , wont go out for a walk , wont go out for a wee sorry that should be WONT go out for a wee and when I ( theres no nice way of saying this ) Push her out , she crys like a baby ... I wanted a female dog with her own personality warts an all and I got one , and she is special , I really couldn't have wished for anything more than I've got , Im so proud of her and shes so eager to learn everyday... Ive said it before , but , her bark is amazing , its rare but when she does bark shes like a little girl saying Woof , its so pretty I just want to munch her

Hi Ruth, Any advice on dog insurance? Never claimed anything for Honey in 3 years but the premium is now double what is was! She has had 6 teeth out and still needs 2 more out - not covered by our current policy. Totally confused by lifetime, maximum benefit etc. Any advice appreciated.
