Hi Sylv, how nice to hear from you. We are well thanks, glad to hear The New Icemaid Clan are all ok. Hope you and John are good too. Sorry we didn't make it to the K/bury walk, it would have been lovely to see you. We did go on the recent walk in Sutton Park, Twiggy was great whilst walking but had her usual grumble at any poor hound who tried to say "Hello" to her at the end! Good job I love her so much! Hi Kate, I hope all is well with yourself and Twiggy. Sounds like you had a great day at the Val., Open Day. We did look for you on the K/bury Walk. From your e-mails the mackerel cake went down a treat. All our girls are fine & behaving a usual. Love Sylv & John, inc., The New Icemaid Clan X

    Over the Rainbow Bridge

Lucy is enjoying herself so far. On our walkies, we walked past a pug. Lucy showed interest but more like curiosity than aggression. Lucy and my two greyhounds seemed to match in temperament as they seemed not bothered with her lively personality. They also allowed her in their beds with them from time to time. She is clean and knows when to do her "business". She is basically a quiet girl but alert and gets excited when stimulated by fast movements (like when someone runs). So far, she hasn't given me any trouble at all since we got her last Sunday. The best way to exhaust her excess energy is either to give her a long walk or two 20 minute walks a day. Once knackered, like any other greyhounds, she is sleeping quietly in her bed all through the day/night. Couch potato through and through. Please give Lucy a chance to have a forever family to love and look after her. She is a very sweet girl with lively personality. How I wish I could have Lucy permanently but we are just renting our house. Our landlord is kind enough to allow us to adopt 2 greyhounds. We wouldn't want to rock the boat with another one. Take a chance with Lucy and like we all discovered in greyhounds, the return is priceless.

Well we're now a 2grey family, not bad seeing as 5months ago we had none! Can't believe how we've been taken over but it is FANTASTIC, so big thank you's must go to Jill n Paul who gave us so much info about greys that it convinced us to visit n reserve Goldie, our beautiful, quiet, calm golden girl. To Ruth who is always so welcoming n knowlegble about all the greys at Daybreaks, it's such a treat to visit. To all those people who write on here, answer questions n generally support, it's fab. N big thanks to Kerry who let us take Ruby(Joan) home to see how the girls got on, she's now a fully fledged member of our family, Ruby that is not Kerry, lol, she small, black, a cuddle monster and completly MAD but we love her loads n even younger but definately wiser sister, gold, is starting to love her!! So THANK YOU THANK YOU to everybody who has anything to do with Daybreaks, you are all amazing xxx

Love that name! Handsome lad and what a lot of races. Wonder if he 's a "Yes m'lady" kind of lad (for those of us old enough to remember.....). Maybe someone out there has a Lady Penelope just waiting for a companion..... xxx

  • Lucy (Faith)

    Over the Rainbow Bridge

This lovely hound has been with us for only two days – what a change in a short space of time. Faith has started to come out of her shell and interacts well with our greys. It will be great to see how her personality develops when she has had chance to fully settle after her life in Ireland. She seems to take everything in her stride, is quick to adapt and accept new surroundings. Faith has been clean in the house, been good on the lead, is quite happy in a covered crate and sleeps soundly through the night. Hopefully she will soon find the forever home she deserves, given her shaky background.

Ah Faith. Met you on Sunday (along with gorgeous Little Lizzie). Tucked up nice and warm in the treatment room, she started to come out of her shell a bit. I think she will make a great pet, you could see her lovely cheeky side coming out already. She was very affectionate and even managed to give me a Greyhound 'kiss' Mand x
