Milly (Betty)
I’m Homed
Things are going well in the Angell household. Milly met a 2 year old human at the weekend and behaved very well! Just a sniff and then stood perfectly to be stroked 🙂 still working on the cats, very interested but beginning to respond to a firm no and look at me to get a treat. I'm sure she will learn but for now the lead and muzzle are firmly in place around them. Love her to bits though and don't mind how long cat training takes, as I'm sure she will make it!!!

Hope is beautiful - so similar to my beautiful Stig (Matt), I'm sure she will be re-homed quickly. The Liverpool Red coat is a winner too 😉 xx

I have an update on my beautiful boy, The Stig. Unfortunately, the cancer has started it's journey to the lungs, as predicted, so we are on the last part of our time together. I am assured he is no pain right now, so he will be kept a very close eye on to ensure that doesn't change. 🙁

Lucy update: Lucy and my two greyhounds got on well the moment she arrived at our house. As any new dog in a house, she wanders around the house and garden checking things out. After a few minutes, she made herself totally at home with us. There were a few instances of panting which I am expecting since she is on unfamiliar grounds but that quickly went away as soon as we scratch her ears. She has calmed down and went to sleep. I have trained my two greyhounds (both boys) to wait just outside my kitchen door whilst fixing their meals. They would sit calmly and wait to be called to eat their dinner. I started training Lucy just to wait outside the kitchen door (without the sitting command yet but I'll try in time) and after several practice and treats (worked on her as she loves her food), she finally got it! I am quite surprised how fast she learned it. Now she knows one routine that every dog in my house must follow that is to wait patiently for their meal. She is a lively girl but I think the person who would adopt her must teach Lucy a set routine. She clearly demonstrated to me that she is bright, willing if guided, and could do more if you just spend some time teaching her how. She is a sweetheart. She slept well the whole night and didn't give us any trouble at all. I've just given their brekkie, I am so pleased she practice what she learned yesterday of waiting patiently for her food by the kitchen door. Well done, Luce! Ruth - no worries. Brian and I are forever grateful to you, Rob and Daybreaks. Our way of saying thank you and to be able to help as much as we can with these wonderful gifts from heaven called greyhounds. Will keep you posted. XXX - Myrna

What can I say? She's an absolute doll! I must have sat with her in the treatment room for almost an hour today. After shedding more than one or two tears about her and her two companions, I hopefully showed her how lovely humans can be. I sat on the floor with her, initially she wouldn't even take a treat from me, but after a while, although a very timid little thing, she did eventually munch her way through three small doggy biscuits, literally kissing them from my fingers, she was so gentle. She has such a tiny, tiny face and the saddest eyes I thought I had ever seen. After a while though, her eyes seemed to come alive and she has certainly captured my heart - I just can't stop thinking about her. I'll pop up to see you next weekend if you're still there and bring you something tasty. Love you Little Lizzie. Mand x

Met this little poppet today. She is just gorgeous. What a lot she must have been through and she was just lying there in the treatment room looking so shell shocked, but allowing us to gently fuss her. I expect when she starts to feel a bit better in herself she will start, bit by bit, to show a little of her personality. You are in a good place now sweetheart and I'm sure a lovely home isn't far away. xxx
