Spike is a really laid back lad. He is sharing the top kitchen kennel and run with Topsy. He sits back and watches Topsy getting excited with day to day life at the kennels and snoozes on his bed. Xxx Hope he won't have to wait too much longer for his forever home. Xxx

Daybreaks Diary!

It was another busy day at the kennels. 🙂 Poor Caesar had managed to get something in his paw so Erik brought him in for Ruth to have a look at. Barney came too and was most concerned about his friend. Xxx Erik calls them his 2 good naughty boys! :)) There were also several visitors with corns! It was great to see fabulous ex-Daybreaks resident Jonty. :)) He is now eleven years old. He was very "vocal" during his stay all those years ago! :)) I understand from his owner he still is!! Xxx We also had a couple of viewings which were very positive. Xxx It was a cooler day so we were able to take the dogs for morning and afternoon walks. I had the pleasure of taking Topsy and Millie for a walk together. They were very good, even when we saw a squirrel! Many thanks to Alan and Declan for going to the warehouse for us. I know they got stuck on the M6! Good thing Alan had brought chocolate donuts to cheer him and Declan up on their return. :)) Thank you to all those who popped in with donations of food and bedding. Xxx All of the current residents are beautiful, loving and gorgeous....please contact us if you would like to meet any of them. Xxx Thanks so much to everyone for your help today. So nice to see Shirley and Richard.

We have had Monty a week now and the love he has given us in that time is huge. I woke up this morning and he was by the side of the bed fast a sleep. He followed me downstairs for a cuddle. I let him in the garden before I went to work and he just stared at me and went back to bed. He is starting to realise that he don’t have to follow us everywhere now. He is amazing and has really helped us all the past week. He has settled in well and just goes where ever he wants. Don’t be late with meals because he will tell you.

Daybreaks Diary!

An earlier than normal diary post today.... Thanks as always to our Wednesday Walkers, Denise and Chris for their help today and to Dave who gave the treatment room a good clean. I had a few days off so it was nice to be back in the kennels surroundings and see the residents. Yes, Shanesmum, things have moved around but the place looks great. A very big thank you also, to Tony and Steve from Devils Own Motorcycle Club, Warwickshire for their very generous donation of food which was collected by the club, we were one of several lucky recipients of their fundraising event. They will also have a cash donation for us once all monies have been collected. They told us that hopefully this is going to be an annual event. Unfortunately, the photo that was taken did not come out, so we are going to try and contact them and get them to send a copy of the picture they took so once they do we will be able to share that with you!!!!

Daybreaks Diary!

It was a busy day today! :)) Nicky came to meet Joe and take him home to introduce him to Jato. Fingers crossed she likes him, but what's not to like he is tall, dark and very handsome! Not to mention his dazzling personality! Xxx We had several visitors to collect food and drop off bedding, thank you so much. Xxx Alan brought gorgeous Paddy for a pamper with Lucy. Despite being a little wobbly he seemed to enjoy all the extra attention. Xxx We had a lovely family come along to get to know the Greyhounds better....Xxx This afternoon, Ian, Deborah and Sam accompanied by Monty popped in to officially adopt him. Xxxx What a super little lad. I agree with Ian that Barney and Russ have sent him especially for them. Xxx Thanks so much to everyone for your help today. Many thanks to Norman for taking little Millie to the park. 🙂 Xxx

So wonderful to read this and like I have said before, monty sounds a total dreamboat and definitely Lucy's cup of tea. I always believe things are meant to be and barney and russ will definitely have sent him to help you and will be in monty so still with you in their own little way. Love to all xxx

I am so very happy that you have all given Monty the chance of his forever home. I know how incredibly difficult this has been for you all after losing Russ so very tragically.
