Hi Auntie Kate, the hoomans really thought about the winner but it was me in the end! I have a very happy tail. We also played games of bed swaps. That was fun. Unfortunately Florence has gone home now. It was lovely having her and we had loads of fun! I hope to welcome her back soon! Lubs Monty Xx

Oh my lovely boy, what a fun update for you! Sounds like you are embracing this "home life" thing head on!! Just remember to listen carefully to your Mum & Dad, and take an example from Finn - there is so much that's new and exciting isn't there, lots to learn. Really hope things work out for you. xx

Steve (Warrior)

Well, we survived the night with a few grumbles and barks early on. Then slept till 7 am. They were muzzled, which Finn was not too happy about but accepted. Finn wouldn't hurt a fly but I think he is a bit intimidated by this younger lothario when he gets too close, so safety first. Warrior (Steve) is a happy boy and at the moment is my velcro dog, following me everywhere and even wags his tail when I am telling him NO ! but goes to his bed (or should I say Finn's bed) lol when told. Soon realised the kitchen and I am the bringer of food, and counter surfing may become an Olympic for which he is in training ! Finn was always very subservient to Nina and think he is heading that way already with Steve! Poor old boy, I think he had just got used to stretching out across 2 beds and living life at his pace, but all in all, still have fingers crossed that this will be a happy union. "Steve" is just in love with new experiences and FOOD but after 1 day we can see he has the potential to be a loving sweet boy. xx

By Faye,Ben & Naomi Harry has had a really settled night , let’s us know when he wants to go out and has enjoyed a walk this morning . Seems to be a very content and happy boy so far . Sadie has just accepted him and they enjoy lying on there duvets next to each other . All booked in for his dental at the end of the month. Will keep you posted x

Daybreaks Diary!

Today can only be described as sheer madness!!!! I would like to thank Denise, Dave, Kitty, Carol and Alison for the I help today. We had a viewing at 10am, Molly was a firm favourite, they took her on the morning walk and made a lovely donation to be allowed to take her out, but the family had two other dogs to view elsewhere. Sadly for Molly another grey took their dogs fancy so they have taken the other dog on trial. They were so apologetic and thanked us so much for our time and will recommend others to us. Sad for Molly but has to be right for everyone concerned. After all it is another grey going to a loving home albeit not from us. Well, Warrior (Steve) and Harry have both gone on trial to their respective families with existing dogs. So very happy for both of them, good luck kids, hope all goes well and you get your forever homes! It was lovely to see so many ex Daybreaks hounds today, always great to have a catch up and a cuddle (with the dogs that is, don't think the owners would object if we tried to hug them, lockdown is easing)! Well the message as always is stay safe and well all. Xx

Also met Barney today. He was wagging his short tall for all he was worth. Such a happy friendly boy who from I have heard has become much calmer and well behaved. He even took an interest in Finn who by this time just wanted to get home for his dinner. His wonderful foster family so want a loving forever home for him, and he really deserves it. xxx

Loveheart, it was an absolute pleasure finding Fat Neck Finn a companion today, no patients needed at all, it was a total pleasure. Again how funny that you were looking for a different type of dog and Finn and Warrior (Steve) seemed to be so comfortable with each other. Hope all goes well. X
