What a very good boy Monty, you will soon learn that dogs come in all different shapes and sizes. Yes, you may not like all of them, but do we like everyone we meet? Well done you, Labradors can be very excitable and you sound like you dealt with the experience well. X

I just want to say we are really proud of our Monty Moo today. As mentioned earlier we went to visit some friends who had a couple of dogs. On walks Monty has been a little scared of other dogs so we went to try and help him get more confident around them. We went with caution and Monty again travelled brilliantly. We arrived and our friends dogs were very excited and Monty was quite unsure when he went in which we expected. He had a couple of growls if they came a bit close but nothing major and it soon stopped. He settled quite quickly and realised there is nothing to be scared of! They all got on very well in the end! Very proud of him. He is a fantastic boy.

Daybreaks Diary!

I had a message from our Dave this morning saying he was feeling under the weather so he and Maisie Moo would not be in. Hoping he is feeling better soon. That left myself, Denise and Alison in today. Thanks to Denise for opening up and for cleaning out the chicken house! Also to Alison for taking the dogs into the sand run this morning. This afternoon the residents all had time out in the outdoor runs. We had a lovely new arrival, Roxie, she can be a little timid, but seemed absolutely fine and settled in to her kennel well. We had visitors for the sand run and also drop offs of bedding, thank you. Well it's 19.25, think I may have my breakfast, then lunch, forget dinner!!! Better idea, maybe a glass of wine or two (just to keep me going)!!! As always, stay safe and well. X

Monty has really settled in now. He loves his food and he is very nosy and likes to put his nose in every cupboard, draw and bag he can. He likes to lean on you and show his love and is a big fuss pot. He gets scared when around other dogs but is always interested. We are going to go to some friends later who have 2 Labradors and get very excited so that will be interesting.

After last night's horrible thunderstorm & monsoon, we arrived at the kennels a little earlier this morning to check out the leaking roof and get to the doggies in case they were stressed. Well - it must have been a localised Eeyore cloud over our house - because there was no problem with the roof, and all doggies were absolutely fine with lovely clean kennels! Gold stars all round for the boys & girls today - yay. xx xx

Dear Clare, Jim, Belle and Oscar, I'm so very sad to hear Louis has gone to Rainbow Bridge. So sweet and an absolute gentleman! I remember "borrowing" him for the Tony Knight training weekend. Daybreaks Diary!

A quiet day today - and fortunately the promised rain held off so the residents enjoyed both morning and afternoon walks. I must say I enjoy walking Spike. He is a real gentle giant, he walks alongside you at whatever pace you set and stands nicely to be leaded up. He & his kennel mate Topsy remind me so much of an old married couple - Spike does like to snuggle up to Topsy on the same bed (even though they have 3 in the run to choose from), most of the time she will allow him to do this, but just occasionally will have a big grumble at him to remind him whose boss - and he ends up sitting on the floor!! Having said that though, Topsy will also happily stand for ages with her chin resting across Spike's back - that's little girlie Greyhounds for you!! It was pretty Delli's birthday today, and we had a little party for her with treats for all the residents. We sang Happy Birthday to her - she wasn't impressed!!! With very few visitors we were able to get teeth cleaning and grooming done, as well as more sorting & tidying. The Daybreaks 15th Birthday Bonanza Auction is in full swing, and we have added some more great items today, so pop on over to Facebook and have a look at the new additions. The auction finishes next Thursday 1st July. Well the weekend is here again, unfortunately not much in the diary again but you never know..... I shall raise my glass of wine later to toast all the lovely boys & girls in kennels - may forever sofas be just around the corner. Stay distanced & stay safe one and all - cheers! Angie xx

There are some strange things going on! I was having my hourly rest and all of a sudden this loud noise appears. I get up to investigate and a piece of white stuff with writing on came flying out at me!!! Im staring at the weird noise machine and it’s not doing anything now! Where did that white thing come from???? Anyway yesterday I decided to be helpful by taking all my toys out of my toy bag. Then take the toy bag out into the garden and leave it there. Very helpful I think. Lubs Monty Xx

Can I say how much I agree with Kate regarding Spike Having taken him to Elmdon Park last week where his behaviour in all ways was exemplary I can honestly say there is a fantastic dog just waiting for his forever home to arrive. Hopefully that will not be far away now
