Yesterday we lost Archive- although he wasn’t a Daybreaks hound, He lead us to Daybreaks’s where we adopted both Breeze and Jato. He loved the Stratford walks. He always wanted to be up front. He had a spinal stroke four years ago, which damaged his back leg we had his leg amputated twelve months after his stroke. He turned thirteen in May - just before we found a lump under his jaw, because of the placement, his age and his blood issues it was decided not to look at it - but to care for him and wait. Over the weekend he lost a lot of weight - so our vet came out yesterday he lay on his favourite memory foam bed in the sun watching the birds with his head in my lap. Xxx

Jet, my world, my soulmate, my best friend, my everything! Happy 10th birthday to the best boy in the whole world! The vets said you wouldn't make your 10th birthday but you've proved them wrong! I am sooooo proud of you and love you more than words can say. Hope you've enjoyed your day with all your birthday presents and a walk on the beach. Hope you know how adored you are by us all! Daybreaks Diary!

Well, not much of the forecast rain showed itself today. For a change all the kennel dogs apart from Joe who had a broken hock and Topsy had off lead fun in the sand run this morning. Topsy had a morning walk along the lane. More fun in the run this afternoon, they really enjoyed themselves. Many thanks to Lynne, her mom and son Robert for taking Leo to the park today. It sounds like he had a fab time. Ruth was busy with teeth scraping, nails and Poppys crusty pads!! We saw gorgeous Bruiser signed up, I think it was a bit of a shock for his foster mom who had been working hard to persuade her husband to fail and give him his forever home. Whilst she was buying a new collar Shorn asked me to sort the homing paperwork!! A lovely family came in to view the dogs, they have two elderly cats, so want a cat friendly dog, sadly none available at the moment. The have very kindly offered to volunteer with us. If anyone is interested in volunteering please give the kennels a call we do have days where we could do with extra help. Thanks too for the donations of bedding and car boot items. Lorna had bookings for pampers, if you would like to treat your hound to one of these please give us a call, we have different people who can do these on different days, we can pass on their contact details. As always stay safe and well. Now I think it's wine o'clock!!!

We took the lovely Leo to Elmdon Park today. He was such a good boy and not phased by the other dogs we saw - including a small poodle type dog who he got close to with no problem. He just stood and watched a remote control car without any reaction. He is very interested in the world around him and loves to explore. He walked very well. He'll make the right owner(s) a fantastic pet. Good boy Leo. Lovely to see you again although I do hope you find your forever home very soon. Please give this wonderful boy a chance. x
