Miles (Hagar)
I’m Homed
Week 1 update. Miles has settled in beautifully. The week has gone so fast and yet it feels like he's always been part of our family. He's definitely made himself at home. The cat is still giving him a wide berth but they have seen each other lol. Freki Beagle has welcomed him and I think they have been really good for each other, hopefully it continues. Everyone that has met him says what a lovely calm temperament he has....he's just wonderful! Thanks again Daybreaks xxxx

Leo
I’m Homed
Leo my boy, you are such a sweetheart and we are desperate to find you your perfect home. Sadly you have been in and out of the kennels which is unsettling for you - but we have learnt so much about you and your needs. You are a big, friendly soul who would love a home with someone around most of the time - and the chance for great walks & explorations. Have a big cuddle tonight gorgeous - you deserve it. xx

Oh my Mr Phoenix - you are a heartbreaker! So affectionate, you just love to lean and give us that "look" with those amazing eyes. Can't quite understand why you have had no interest my lovely - let's hope your turn will come very soon. Have my cuddle tonight. xx

Joe
I’m Homed
Joe is a lovely lad, he does get quite excited when you try to get his lead & muzzle on for a walk - but that's not surprising as he is recovering from a broken hock so is on restricted exercise. I am sure he would love to get out for a "blast" but we must build up his stamina and muscle tone first. It is at times like this that you wish you could talk to the animals so you could explain!! Fingers crossed that his forever home comes along soon. x

Topsy
I’m Homed
Little Miss Topsy is such a sweetheart - I am amazed that she hasn't had any interest as yet. She is another doggie that loves company and is happier when she is out of her kennel and can see everything that's going on around her. She walks nicely on her lead, and is such a snuggle bunny. Really hope her chance comes soon. xx

Woody (Sanka)
I’m Homed
This lovely, sensitive boy is desperate to find his forever home. This morning he was a bit reluctant to return to his kennel after his breakfast - lying on the floor of the run with his head on Michael's feet!! However, a tasty treat waved in front of his nose did the trick!!!! He would just love a home that will let him be him - as much as he loves company and fun, he also sometimes needs a quiet "Sanka" time where he can lie undisturbed and quiet (I empathise 100%!!). Fingers crossed his perfect forever home is just around the corner. xx

Daybreaks Diary!
I’m Homed
I have awarded all our lovely residents a Gold Star today for having lovely clean kennels! When Michael & I opened up this morning, we were greeted by some very happy doggies and some very clean kennels. We love our Saturday mornings - we open up early not only to get a head start on the day as Saturdays are always busy, but also to allow Michael to spend some time with the doggies before it's time to open to the public. Whilst things are getting easier, and we have had both our vaccinations, he still has to be careful about mixing, so our "private" mornings are ideal!! Daybreaks currently has a kennel full of absolute beauties - all so deserving of their forever homes. Let's hope that we see some more red signs outside those kennels soon. Have a great weekend one and all, enjoy the weather but stay safe too - and keep those hounds cool! Angie x

Well....I think Good Boy Flloyd has forgiven me for missing his birthday. We made up for it with mashed potato, cod in butter sauce all mixed in with their dinner. Coopers first experience of special dinner and he didn't complain!!! I will post a Cooper update in the next few days. Take care everyone. Xxx

Daybreaks Diary!
I’m Homed
The promised sunshine and warm temperature took a long time to arrive today - which meant the residents could enjoy morning & afternoon walks down the shady lane. It was a very busy day indeed - Ruth spent most of the day on her knees attending to a variety of corns, problem nails & teeth! The sand run was popular again, Lorna had pampers and we had some very kind donations of bedding to sort and find space for! There was much coming & going through the kennels today!! Firstly Barney came to spend a couple of days with us - he is such a lovely, friendly boy who would very much like to find his forever family soon. His foster Dad says he is doing so very well, but just needs the stability of a permanent home to relax in and continue his training. Then Chase, who came back from his foster home during the week, found himself out on foster again. He has a poorly paw, and really needs to be in a different environment from a kennel to be able to benefit from the treatment. Big thanks to his foster Mum. Finally Alley left the building! He has started his new life with a new name - Dexter, wishing everyone many happy times ahead. Well, the weekend is here again. Unfortunately there are no viewings booked, but I will raise my glass of chilled white wine in the hope that things change & another of our beautiful doggies find themselves with a red sign by Monday. Stay distanced & stay safe one and all - cheers! Angie xx

Casey
Over the Rainbow Bridge
Aah poor Casey. Totally agree with you though. Our Cilla had most of her teeth removed a few months ago & the change in her has been massive. Much better eating & all round happier. It's such a shame that they feel so awful without us knowing. Thankfully we haven't had to endure your other problem!

Casey
Over the Rainbow Bridge
Casey had 7 teeth removed a few weeks ago and hasn’t stopped eating since. His appetite has been hit or miss since he’s been squatting here for the last 4 years (he only came to stay for 2 nights remember). I can’t help but think that he may have had trouble with his teeth for all that time. Nothing was obvious, and he had regular checkups but the turnaround in his appetite is amazing. It’s great to see him enjoying his food but he does tend to contaminate the air supply from time to time.
