Meg has made a fantastic pet. She now runs off the lead, and comes back for a treat. A good walk each morning, then sleeps in the home office for the rest of the day.

Char
I’m Homed
Words can't explain my devastation and grief at losing my beautiful boy. I wish I could put into words just how special he is and how much he truly deserves. Char is so loving and affectionate and lives for the fuss and being close to you, he is a big boy but will still get right on your lap for cuddles like a small westie. He is house trained but needs a family/couple/single person to continue with this, he will come and let you know he needs the toilet but if you miss the signs or don't let him out straight away he will go where he can, with more training I'm sure he will get better. The way to Char's heart is through his belly, he is the typical greyhound food monster and gets so excited at dinner time, the same with his walks. So long as he has his walk and dinner he is happy and content. He would do well in any kind of setting whether that be a family, where playing with the kids in the garden would be his idea of heaven, he really loves his toys!! Or a couple or single person. He would definitely prefer a house with another grey (male or female) unless somebody can be with him most of the time because he misses his family LOTS when they go out so would appreciate the company, although he doesn't wine, bark or chew ever! When I went out he used to run to the window and watch me go from there, then lie by the door and wait for me, I have never been greeted by so much love ever and I have to say that feeling never gets old, he loves unconditionally, as do all our greys which is so wonderful. Char will need a firm handler (although I am a 5 foot female!) when walking because he sometimes makes a fuss when he sees other breeds of dogs by pulling a bit and barking, and if he sees them running in the distance he barks more out of frustration, he isn't an aggressive barker. Once he says hello though he is absolutely fine, I muzzled him just to be on the safe side but he has met all kinds of dogs and has been wonderful, its just the initial excitement. Cats are his weakness and he just can't understand how he has been taught all his life to chase small furry things but he can't chase these, which is fair enough really! I have had him off lead in an enclosed field and he absolutely loves it, especially when I took toys with me, running free is every greys dream I think and its amazing when you can let that happen, he couldn't go off the lead in a pubic park because of the distraction with other dogs but if this can be worked on then he could go off in time. I am crying writing this but I need people to understand how this boy completed my life and how my heart is on the floor now he's gone, that's how special he is. Whoever takes my baby on will be so lucky and should feel so blessed to have him in their life. The photos on here don't do him justice, he is absolutely stunning to see, if you click on the family tree and race history there are photos I added of him while he was with me, and he looks absolutely beautiful. If anybody is interested in finding out more about Char you can add me on facebook: Chloe Strachan where there are 100s of pictures of him to look at and wonderful videos of him playing and running, you can also ask me anything further and I will be happy to help, I just want him to find the best possible home now because he deserves it so much, it has left me heartbroken but I know its what he needs.

Joey came home with me tonight to see how he would get on with the cats. Sadly he failed his cat test. He has been very good with my greys and, after an initial, "oh what's that" reaction to my non greys he is now very settled. Only had a couple of accidents and he is already going to the back door when he wants to go out, amazing seeing he's only been here 5 hours. He is fast asleep on the rug as I type! Joey is going to be an asset to someones home.

A big day today as it was a work day, not happy as it meant i had to leave goldie, well as with everything else it was a doddle, came home after an hour, crept in and she was sleeping on her bed, what a star! Had to return to work n dad arrived home to find the same again! Stands in the kitchen door when I cook and when we eat lies down by Dad and all of this after 3days! It's just a delight to have her, we're so so lucky.
