    I’m Homed

What a day!!! Easily summed up in three words, MANIC, HOT, SURPRISING!! We were due one viewing, one homing, sand run users and dropping off of donations and bedding. Homing done, well done Chase now Monty, viewing turned into a homing. Well done Flower she has now apparently has a new name, Clemmy, her family were torn between two names and were going to let me know what they chose. We were asked to take a greyhound in from her owners as they felt she was being too over excited with their little dog. A foster appeal was going to go out, but as Chases foster mom was leaving after dropping him off for his homing she made the mistake of saying "if you have another one to foster let me know"!!! She went home with Marge!! Thanks so very much Michelle. Please remember if you are interested in any of our foster dogs please let us know and we can arrange for them to be brought into kennels or at a convenient location for a viewing. Handsome Jack has a viewing tomorrow....yay...fingers crossed as the lovely lady coming to see him was pipped at the post in reserving him by a few minutes when he was previously reserved. Thanks to Dave, Denise, Alison and Liz Beth for their help today, just sorry to be in the office for most of the day, but well worth the end results. It was a very quick "hello, thanks and goodbye" to Liz Beth this morning after she came in for walks. This afternoon was far too hot for walking, so grooming, teeth cleaning and paddling pools came out. It's going to be very hot over the next few days, so please make sure if walking your hounds it is done early morning or later in the evening when it's a bit cooler. As always stay safe and well everyone. X

Hi, Apologies for the change in user names, remembering login details isn't my forte. I just wanted to update everyone, that after seven and eight fantastic years together respectively, well from our side, not sure they enjoyed listening to me rant about work too much when I'm working from home on my own! We had to let Abigail and Denny go. It was the hardest decision to make but ultimately for the best for them. Abigail passed in December following a long illness and we miss her loving nature and readiness to hug and cuddle you no matter what type of day you had. If it was best she would celebrate it with you, if it was the worst she would let you know it would be alright. Denny, who passed yesterday, well he just told you you'd either won, or that you weren't out of the fight, get up and get back in the ring. He was more rougeish than a 70's bond villain, but you just had to love him for it. If you look at the photos, between them they watched my young children grow into men. Witnessed many great moments in their lives and will be very much missed by us all.

Update on Twirl... Had a settled night with no accidents ???? Her character is showing through, have to say at times she is a fruitloop...decided she wanted to play with the vacuum, had no problem with her teeth being cleaned, snores and spends more on her back roaching than anything else lol. She saw two different breeds of dog showing an interest but no aggression at all..in the house she does very excited at times, nothing seems to faze her. She is a food monster looking for every opportunity to steel lol.....but a firm no she does give up and lies down.

We had the pleasure of the company of this fabulous boy yesterday and overnight. He is indeed a star - house trained, walks beautifully on his lead, affectionate and caring, and with a fun side that loves a blast of energy & play! So sad his reservation has fallen through, but he is so ready for a loving forever home again soon. Fingers crossed for you sweetheart. xx

We have Twirl with us at home, within an hour and half she has settled really well, even had a roach. She met our big boy Alfie, so far a couple grumbles from him. But as a whole it's going well. She is a very calm sweet and happy little girl who loves a fuss.

  • Daybreaks Diary!

    I’m Homed

Well, it couldn't make up its mind if it wanted to be a warm, sunny day today or not - in the end it decided not, meaning the boys & girls could have morning and afternoon walks - and the banana & blueberry frozen smoothies I had made stayed in the freezer!! If the forecast is to be believed they will be needed over the weekend! The salmon & green bean fishcakes I made for breakfast went down a treat - except for little Twirl who didn't eat very much as she is still a bit bewildered with her new situation bless her. She is a friendly soul, who stands beautifully to be leaded up and walks nicely - hoping she soon settles in. x Spike & Topsy are very settled together in the kitchen kennel and run, they came running up to the bars to greet me when I opened up this morning with tails happily wagging - so lovely to see. Topsy was not vocal at all during the day - except to give Spike little warning growl when he tried to join her on her bed!! Suitably chastened, he went back to his own bed, lay on his back with his legs in the air and let the breeze blow round!! He is a lovely big lad who walks beautifully on his lead, and enjoys the company of a friend. Poor Phoenix was not a happy soul in his cone - bless him he found it so hard to manoeuvre through doors! As he couldn't go out on walks, he spent the day in the outside feeding run watching the world go by. It was a very quiet day, so a great chance to catch up with some teeth cleaning, grooming and tidying. Well another weekend is here - and we have some viewings booked so keep fingers crossed. I shall raise my glass of wine this evening to toast our lovely boys & girls - may forever sofas come there way soon. xx Whatever you're up to this weekend stay safe, stay distanced - and keep yourselves and your hounds cool. Cheers! Angie xx
