What a gorgeous boy , would have loved to have brought you home too. If Arty settles well in the words of that great action hero "I'll be back" - I'm working on it Flash! xxx PS! Ahha he saved every one of us!

Hi greyhound lovers - just to let you know Arty is settling in well after a bit if a stressful night. He misses all his Day Breaks friends but will be back to visit and will forward some photo's. He has already adopted a Xmas reindeer as his own and his big Sis Holly is looking after him. He nearly got away with the prawn crackers last night but we managed to spot them before they got consumed. Xxx from Arty PS! We love Flash too and it was such an agonising choice, I'm working on it though 😉

Penny, what great news. It sounds like you are already settling in and showing your potential. Your foster mum is obviously a very clever lady, and if you behave as a 'Penny Wise' I'm sure you will have a permanant new home very soon. Good luck lovely girl, I've really enjoyed your company x

I am sooo luck to have Penny as our house guest for a few weeks, she has been in kennels a while and needed a holiday! (she also needs a forever home as she can't have a permanant place here, sadly, so she still is available...so call Ruth if you have a loving home to offer her x) When I brought her home it wasn't like having a new greyhound in the house, because she's been with Ruth, she knew what a "home" was, she met our 3 dogs with sniffs and a waggy tail (it never stops!) went into the garden and was, erm, "clean" straight away, waited patiently for her tea and ate it calmly. We went for a walk, she pulled a little for the first 5 minutes, then calmed down and walked really well, she coped with traffic, an ambulance, people and other dogs calmly, no mean feat in the dark, in a new place. Considering she is in a strange house, where all her safety nets aren't, new people, new smells, children (which she loves!) new routines and rules, she is AMAZING! She found the toy box and helped herself, she loves balls and squeeky toys and wasn't at all posesive over them. She's bright as a new penny (see what I did?!) comes to her name, has learnt "wait", understands about walking "close", knew "lie down", doesn't beg for food...and that's just what I've seen so far, she has huge potential. It took her a short while to settle, to decide where she wanted to lie, or could lie I suppose, everything is new here and she's had to find her place in the pack. She only barked for 30 minutes at bed time (didn't help the annoying dog 2 doors down barking too!) but after ssshhhhh's and then ignoring her, she quickly went to sleep (our dogs sleep in the kitchen, so another new thing she coped with!) This morning I was greeted with THE waggiest tail and bottom I've ever seen, no accidents and a big wee in the garden! I have no idea why she is still at the kennels, she is sooo loving, clever, copes with change, loves children and, of course, is beautiful! These next few weeks I'll socialise her with more different breeds (she likes our spaniel) will take her to school to collect the boys, will see how she is being left for a few hours while I'm at work and take her to training on Saturday (though I won't be as good as Alison!) Penny has been a dream here, I'll keep you updated, but PLEASE ring Ruth if you can let this beautiful girl into your home and your heart x

Iris
Over the Rainbow Bridge
Iris is curled up on the sofa with Betsy, our 13 year old brindle, and her teddy bear. Lump continues to stay the same. She continues to race around the garden with our other 5, beating all of them! She is a sweetheart.

Had another lovely day with Penny. She was very good at training, just nervous when two dogs barked close by her. She joined in well and was responsive to commands. In the park she walked past small dogs and was only nervous when dogs approached her. If they passed her on their leads she was fine. At home yet again she was geat with Gracie and Rowan. I don't need to muzzle her at home. Throughout the day she came up for cuddles and leaned against me. She met a lovely couple when I took her back to Daybreaks and she was very friendly with them too. This girl just needs a chance. She really is special and lovely. I've sent you a cuddle Penny, see you soon x

I felt so privileged to be given so many kisses and cuddles from this gorgeous boy on entering his kennel today, so affectionate and his eyes just draw you in! He did however totally dump me when Craig arrived, clearly a mans dog! I still love you though Arty. xx
