Angel is a gorgeous girl and despite her obvious loveless past few years she comes up to you with a smiley face and a waggy tail, makes me wonder sometimes how these dogs can be so loving and forgiving. she looked so much better once she had her bath and her nails trimmed and once her poorly teeth are sorted she will be as good as new. She is very pretty and someone will be able to give her the love and the home she deserves. big hugs Angel. xxxx

Bracken is the tiniest greyhound girl i have ever seen and at the moment she is a little too thin but she is such a sweet little girlie, a real snuggle monster and when out for her walk she was so interested in everything around her but still walked beautifully. EMMA DO NOT GO TO KENNELS AND LOOK ...LOL xxx

Hi Alison, Penny was a star today, I just hope I didn't show her up too much, it was like brain training for humans, I was mentally shattered at the end ( I nearly put mentally challenged, but that's something different! Lol!) You are right, she has personality in bucket loads, she really makes me laugh, even when I should have my stern face on! Thankyou for taking her to training, the work you and Ruth have done with her really shows, Penny sends a cuddle to you x

Hi Tash, so sorry to read your sad news about Charlie. I expect all of us are hoping to see the reserved sign accross Penny's picture but I know it doesn't necessarily follow. It sounds as if she is making herself at home though. I hope she and you enjoyed the training this morning and that Jules had some useful tips re the barking. It was apparant when she was with me that she is a grey with personality, and this I think is the best kind!!!! Whatever happens you are giving her the best chance, which is brilliant. Big love to Penny xxx

The barking will stop eventually,I think most greyhounds are to Idle to bark!! Once she knows Its her home you probably wont know you have got her!!

I am appalled at the state this poor greyhound has come back in. Her teeth need immediate veterinary attention, her ears were full of thick black dirt, her nails are long and she has not been vaccinated since we rehomed her in October 2007. She has just been given a bath as she was filthy and it saddens me that she has been let down but I am relieved she has come back so that we can help her find her a home where she will be treasured.

    I’m Homed

Thankyou for all your kind comments, today I feel less numb and I guess relieved that he's not unhappy any more, I hadn't realised how long I'd been worrying about him...isn't it just the hardest part of owning a pet..."that" decision...anyway...let's talk Penny! I need to confess something...I love, love, love, LOVE her! She's a minx, woke me up at 4am to go in the garden, which was brilliant, but then decided to be wide awake from then on, I gave her some toys and then went to bed and ignored her moaning! To be fair it wasn't that bad, her barking at 6am wasn't all that good, but that's the time I get up to her in the week, so I can't be too annoyed at her internal alarm clock! She's just a real character, I love that, her and Jack are 2 peas in a pod and Buddy the older sensible brother (most of the time!) It just feels too soon after losing Charlie to have the conversation with Tony, he'd be happy with just 2 now, but Penny's so happy here, and we're happy with her...she is working on him though, put her head on his lap last night and gave him her "I love you, love meee" eyes, so we'll see...if not, has anyone got a spare room for me, 3 dogs and 2 children?! It will work out in the end...I feel it's right. Hoping to see some of you at training, just need to get there the old fashioned map way, my new car doesn't have a helpful lady to tell me where to go! Big lick from Penny x

    I’m Homed

Each Grey is different, my first Grey, Buddy was settled the moment he walked in, he was home and that was that! Our second, Jack, took ages to "really" settle, maybe 6 months before we really knew his personality...we thought he was shy (which he is a bit) and wondered if we were "too much" for him and he needed a quiet older person home, but he's a really cheeky, funny, loves life sort of dog and wouldn't be happy in a quiet home! I agree that having a calm first Grey can lead onto another, and in our case, maybe another! (shhh, that's a "I love Penny and she's not going back", conversation for next week!) Enjoy Sally, she sounds happy x

It was so lovely to meet you and your 2 cheeky chappies yesterday (I have 2 the same at home!) You're right, life's funny sometimes, takes you into all sorts of unexpected directions, then sort of works out in the end, keeps us on our toes! I keep having the wonderful image of Ellie-May and her baby yesterday, so sweet, she's lucky to have found you and you her, enjoy every moment together xxxx
