Gent does it too when his food is being prepared, or if we spend too much time looking into the fridge for ourselves! Nothing to worry about, it's just excitement. Mand

I agree, the storm probably will never come, so much so I went and got Grey no 2!! No1 is a beautiful calm laidback boy, No2 is a wee tiny bit of a challenge, but I put that down to her being a returnee to Daybreaks, unsettled for a while but such a bid sook that I adore her. Beware though, such a well behaved dog is most definately the quickest way to earn a lust for Grey no2 - Just ask fatharry (of Blue&Ben) & lindapaul (of Lola&Lena)....buddies at dog training and just like me didn't settle for 1 calm Grey!! So lovely to hear you are enjoying you first grey experience. luv t reubes & blossom

I'm so happy for you all & Maisie. What a wonderful life you have given her. I have followed her story since she first arrived back at Daybreaks, met her at the show last October, and love the updates. You and your family are a shining example of good dog ownership. So happy to witness all the loving this beautiful girl is now having. Go Maisie, Go Maisie, Go Maisie. luv t reubes & blossom

Hi Jenisis, my Blossom does it too; when pleased, looking for a fuss and when excited or nervous. I looked on Youtube when I first looked into getting a Grey, there are lots of them with the same trait. It's so funny sometimes, makes me smile a lot. So I thinks its very normal, and a quirk of the breed. luv t

What wonderful news and I love the picture of Maisie's family in the kitchen. It is so heart warming to think how happy Maisie must be in her twilight years. The Court family are more than making up for Maisies difficult past and what a different dog she is a picture of health and happiness! What brilliant people you are.

Mystic is settling in well, as each day goes by he gets closer and closer to becoming a permanent member of the family. Tried him and Cally 2day with the cats without them wearing their muzzles or leads and it went well will build up the length of time we do this for over next couple of days. We have noticed tho that his lips/mouth quivers a lot and we can hear his teeth chattering, does any1 know if this is normal or something to be concerned about? Jen, Mystic n Cally xxx

Hi everyone. Thought you might like an update on Maisies progress. We have been for a vet check today & she is now deemed to be at ideal weight so we are now onto a maintenance plan. We dont want her to get too heavy for her old legs!! She has really built up some muscles now tho, both in her rear legs and her tummy & she stands & walks SO much better. The vet said she is in good shape really for 12!! What a turnaround!!! She IS in season again, which isnt quite right, but she seems well so no major worry for now. Initially, in oct we didnt go ahead with vacc's as we really thought she only had a limited time, but in view of the fact that it looks like she plans on sticking around for a while, we decided to protect her. We walked there & back, and went to the park on the way home for a run around. Fast asleep now with a very full belly :-))

Oh and should also have said that if it happens when Tig's lying flat and you gently move her head and neck to a different position it stops so again that suggests to me its not epilepsy- tho I'm not a vet and would always say get them checked out by an openminded greyhound vet :). I also do TTouch to relax her .. tho she's relaxed about it anyway it helps me to be doing something, often the TTouch will stop the wobbles j xx

Hi Manda Do you mean her head and neck tremor/wobble/shake? If so my Tigger has had a few recently and luckily once at the vets ..now my vet is homeopathic so doesn't resort to chemicals as a first thought .. he's also a McTimoney chiropractor so has another view to offer. He looked at Tigger whilst her head and neck were wobbling, he felt the tremor was not epilepsy and he also felt it was nothing to worry about (excuse me I'm neurotic so I will worry 🙂 🙂 ), he had just manipulated her chiropractically and we wondered if it was a slight nerve response to the adjustments and altho she had a couple of tremors that I saw in the next couple of days they were less and less and she hasn't had one for a week- and these were the first I'd seen for years. As I understand epilepsy in dogs (and my vet agreed) when they are fitting the dogs is not aware of what's going on around it and this is the difference -with Tigger's tremors she is aware of everything that's happening and has come out for her feed whilst her head and neck are shaking (its not a violent shake but a wobble ..like a nodding dog tho side to side) so my vets view is that its not epilepsy he is not sure however what it is. I think that it usually happens when Tig has lay down with her head and neck draped over the end of a high duvet, I know she has disc damage in her neck so I wonder if the nerves just pinch slightly and her head wobbles plus Tig has always been quite a nervy grey so maybe that doesn't help either. If she was mine I'd take her to a McTimoney chiropractor for a check, we've had great results with other greys that have been checked over. If you Google epilepsy there are YouTube footage of fits so you can compare .. I know that there are different types of epilepsy but this may be a starting point. Best wishes Julie x
