Ruth, u r an amazing lady, the daybreak family that we have had the honour of belonging to is a testiment 2 u and all the wonderful volunteers. U have had such hard decisions to make and the day we collected toby was the day that sadly lucy passed away, iris is lucky she ended up with u,rob and then jill and paul her photo's have bin so nice 2 c. Thank heaven u r there, lookin after all of us - dogs included !lol x x

It's my birthday tomorrow. I'm having a mcdonalds with Sheila. Sheila says hello to aunty Julie, I go to Sheilas house every day , I was a bit grumbly with her at 1st, but I'm starting to be good now , that's because I like my new home. Sheila says hello to aunty Julie, and tell Iris that she will love being there, Sheila was there for 2 months, and said she loved it. Sheila is really happy xx to Iris. Me and Sheila meet up with our other friend Kate and go for walks up Sandwell Valley, we love it there. Well I'm off to bed now, excited because I,m 6 tomorrow.

Jill did a special and brave thing today adopting Iris. She is a very poorly girl with limited time but she gave her a chance despite this. I have been beating myself up and spent most of the day in tears thinking making the decision to let her go tomorrow was almost the easy way out - after Lucy I couldn't bear to see another grey with the same prognosis go through what Lucy went through. Selfishly a weight was lifted from me when Jill offered to take her so I wouldn't have to go through tomorrow. I am missing Iris very much but she has what I want for all greys.... a forever home where she will be loved beyond belief.... am I waffling? Anyway, I realise I made what I thought was the right decision at the time but fate moves in mysterious ways and tomorrow was not Iris' time to go just yet. Iris, I love you and everyone at Daybreaks is grateful and thankful for everyone's support and caring comments this week - Daybreaks is somewhere I am very very proud to be part of x

Iris sounds like a strong minded girl bit like our Chillie. The story of Iris and the staff at Daybreaks made me think about things differently. Sometimes u take so much for granted. Rolo is very grateful to his Auntie Ruth and Auntie Jill for helping him find his forever home and so is Chillie. Love u both and have so much admiration for you and all the staff. What a brave decision Jill and Paul, Iris will have a lovely home for the rest of her life. Lets not forget Ruth in all this, the decision that she made was perfectly reasonable and Iris certainly has been a very lucky girl to have had Ruth to look after her. The last few days have been awful for Ruth and she deserves a big thank you and well done, not just for her work with Iris, but with all the other dogs she helps through Daybreaks. Love you Ruth. xx
