Sorry to hear that he has had to have most of his teeth out. At least he will be more comfortable. His gums did look very inflamed when he came in. I hope he'll find a forever home soon with people who will give him all the love he deserves.Give him a big hugxxxxxx

Poor poor Harry. The vet ended up taking out all be 4 of his teeth. To be expected he was bleeding a lot but Zoe took him under her wing last night and looked after him for me as I had Corky arriving. He will feel so much better in a few days as he starts to heal. Soft food for you now Harry xxx

  • Corky

    I’m Homed

Corky was collected from Guildford for me by Bob one of our volunteers. He arrived at our house at 8pm last night - he had travelled well in the car and went straight out into our garden and emptied out then scoffed a bowl of dinner. He was a little unsettled throughout the night and wimpered but this is totally understandable - away from his family and in a strange place. He enjoyed his walk this morning and I will take him to the kennels and see how he settles. If he is too stressed I guess he will be an extra house guest at ours for a while! I am desperate to find this beautiful boy a home as soon as possible. He would thrive having company of another dog or person and I am sure someone out there can offer that soon.

    I’m Homed

Oh Millie/Mable, I wish I had more money, a bigger kitchen for another bed, and an extra pair of hands because if you like mud, then you'd LOVE it in my lovely big muddy garden! Fortunately, all my greys are black so you can't tell how mucky they are...until they sneak past the 'towelling-down room' aka the utility room into the lounge with the cream carpet LOL! Hope you find your forever home soon and I'm sure you'll be able to crack the toilet training with a little bit more time. Em x

What a shame she's come back she's gorgeous. Some dogs take a longer time to settle than others, you just have to have patience & in time they catch on to it all. Peg's a terror in the mud, she looks like she's wearing long black socks. But it's easily cleaned off, & she's had such fun. But I'm sure there is the right forever home just around the corner for Mable. Good luck babes. Val,Peg & Max.xxx

    I’m Homed

Poor Mable was returned today. The reason for this is because she has been running around the garden and getting muddy and still isn't toilet trained..... (she was only homed 4 weeks ago). Mum is distraught at returning her but Dad does not want any help in trying to improve things so poor Mable has lost out on her home. We need someone who will cope with a happy little girl and give her the life she deserves with understanding and commitment. She also has been known to steal food from off the side..... as she was previously a stray - that was unfortunately to be expected! 🙁

Roxy continues to be very good, I think we've been very lucky. She walks very well and has already met lots of other dogs without any fuss. She has mastered toilet training and even lets us know when she wants to go out. Although she was wary of the stairs to start with she's quickly found her feet. She has also been home alone without any complaining so far. I can't believe how well things have gone, fingers crossed it stays that way!!

    I’m Homed

Poor Max has got a poorly foot, he must have trodden on something while out for a walk. The vet said she can't see if anything has been left in his pad. So he's got antibiotics & painkillers & if no better by Friday he'll be sedated so the vet can examine the foot properly. He's feeling really sorry for himself but he's enjoying all the extra fuss & attention. He's so lovely. Val x

  • Sindy

    I’m Homed

I met the previous owners of sindy at a dog show on sunday. They were showing their 2 lovely well cared for greyhounds. I feel very sorry for the owners as they were very upset about the whole situation of having to return her because her other greyhounds bullied sindy and wouldnt accept her into the pack and made her very stressed. I feel very sorry for them as negative messages have been posted accusing them of not thinking it through and not being commited owners. that couldnt be further from the truth. i give them 10 out of 10 for taking on a third greyhound and also making the responsible and hard decision of returning her to find a home where she would be happier and not bullied. im sure sindy thanks her first owner for doing the right thing and yes " thinking it through"!

John's back, one will have to see how things go with the dew claw, given antibiotics & pain killers, may come to more if this does not work (to remove permanently).

Mmmm, I think a better idea would be to stop looking at this website, Pam! Big day for Willow today, second check up with vet, so i have everything crossed that the news will be more positive than on Saturday. When her stitches are out she might well be in the market for a new little brother or sister, if I ever recover from the shock of her recent accident, still can't believe it's happened. Meanwhile, i think Rocky could look for a new career in Trading Standards, as Chief Bed Tester ... ?
