We took Lucy for a walk and let her off for a fantastic run. She had lots of treats and cuddles and Pam and Kerry came to see her. We let my beautiful brave girl go a short while ago. She is now free and I am sure the angels will take her to Rainbow Bridge where I hope I will see her again. Sleep tight precious xxxxxx Love Mummy xxxxxx

What lovely pictures of Lucy and everyone on the walk. Lovely to have the beautiful sunshine this week. Although I didnt meet Lucy, the pictures and all of the updates made me feel very sad but at the same time makes me feel even more determined to spread the word to everyone about how lovely greyhounds are and that they go through so much in their lives when racing that they deserve to be a pet and looked after so well. I met lucy at the Waseley Hills walk recently such a beautiful girl and oh so brave. Ruth you are an inspiration to us all. Lucy has had your unconditional love these past days. She has had the touch of kind hands and devotion from your loving caring heart. Lucy couldn't have asked for more. 'Sleep tight lucy, run free like the wind, in a place free from pain, where there is no rain only warm sunlight, you have earned your wings sweet girl, sleep tight. X X X Julie and Georgia.

Hi Ruth, I am so pleased Lucy enjoyed the sausages; they did look nice! Such a terribly sad day today, but I hope knowing you all gave Lucy the best time of her life this week will help you through it. You will be in my thoughts and prayers. Please give Lucy a big cuddle from me...Dear Lucy although I didn't get to meet you, thanks to Ruths words and pictures it has been a pleasure to have shared some of your happiest days with you. I keep feeling terribly sad and then terribly happy for Lucy in equal measures. Such a sweet thing, you'd never know from the photos just how poorly she really is. I only hope I will be brave enough to make the right decision for my greys when their time comes. I have to say I have been hugging them just a little bit tighter this week whilst counting my blessings. Lucy and all the wonderful people making her last days so special are in my thoughts and prayers, God bless you all. Em xxx

Having seen the beautiful pictures and read the comments the tears are streaming down my face. You will be in my thoughts all day today. Thank you so very much for what you have done for Lucy this last week and will continue to do for Joe, I admire you from the bottem of my heart.

oh Ruthie, what a lovely time you are giving her and she will be going having had more love and fun in her short life as a pet than many dogs have had in a life time. letting them go is the hardest thing to do and it is also the kindest and you are a truely wonderful person to give all this to her. thinking of you, Ina xxxxx

We had an outing today and I took Lucy to Lapworth (along with Foxy & my friends Zoe & Steve & their hounds Bobby & Chic and kennel dogs Hannah and Diva), and walked her along the canal by the locks. There was a section where there was temporary fencing (as they are doing repairs to the canal) so Steve let her off the lead and she ran to me and Zoe with arms wide open!!!!!! Wow, I can see why she did so many races - she loved her run and it was great to give her freedom off the lead! We then went to the Bulls Head in Earlswood where she was allowed in and she enjoyed a bit of cheesy garlic pizza bread! She is now snoozing downstairs after an exciting day - & she finished the last of her luxury sausages (thanks Kate!) I have given her loads of cuddles but cried buckets when she is not looking - my heart is breaking but I know we are doing the right thing for her tomorrow which is the most important.

Sorry for the delay,but we had to have Georgie pts.,10days ago but Minty's coming on, no problems on the toilet front , springing & bounding this afternoon. I was in the G/house & she was like a spring lamb spring all over the garden & taking to digging in the borders. SYLV
