As one of the volunteers who walks her when i am at the kennels i can vouch for the fact that she walks very nicely on the lead, as they are all still trust dogs we can't let them run off lead so that is an area where she as well as all our greys need to be trained in. my 3 greys are not able to go off lead as there is no where suitable for them to be trained to recall safely, however i know plenty of people who are lucky enough to live somewhere where they can train their greys and they do walk them off lead. Joy is just what her name indicates, a joy to be around. Ina x

Poor thing - she has had to be readmitted as the bleeding would not stop. They have opened her up to see if they could see where the bleeding is coming from but there is nothing obvious. Bloods have been sent off as they think she has a problem with clotting. Going to pick her up at 6.30pm and will keep everyone posted......

Poor poor Lucy. She was quite distressed when I collected her from the vets at 5pm yesterday. The side of her head seemed to be swelling and by 7.30pm I called the emergency vet. They advised me to remove the head bandage and when we did we were covered in blood!!! Using a volume of towels, the blood poured out of the drain and her face started to go down. Phew! She spent the night in a cage by the side of our bed and wimpered most of the night but she has had egg on toast this morning and seems brighter. The photos taken this morning (for those of you with a strong stomach) shows her looking loads better!

Hi Suejo, Joe has fitted into home life perfectly! He comes up the kennels with me quite often and everyone is used to his lumpy neck, quirky head movements and twitches and they don't seem to cause him any distress. All in all he seems a happy boy at the moment which is fantastic. I've added a new photo of him in his posh new red collar! Unfortunately his lumpy throat gets in the way sometimes!!!!

to pinkunicorn if you might read this. i too lost my two collies within a year and was heartbroken. i got Rossi after i lost Lenny to keep Monty dog company and it was the beginning of my love affair with greyhounds. during Monty's last months he had the company of three greyhound brothers and he was happy to have them in his life before cancer took him away. my heart goes out to you and i am sending you love and strength for the time ahead and love to your gorgeous little Molly.
