    Over the Rainbow Bridge

I took Lucy to the vets this morning to have more fluid drained from the lump. The vet checked her and found 2 more lumps starting to form, one on her back leg and one on her neck. We are hoping we have a week or two with her but the vet has said as soon as she stops eating, it is time to let her go. She wowed everyone in her new pink collar and fleecy coat and had a big peice of pate with her tablets when we got back home. She is a brave little girl.

I am SO sad for Lucy and for the two of you - you truly are inspirational! I am in tears reading the messages, as are many others I'm sure. I do hope that everyone's thoughts and prayers help the three of you through the difficult times ahead. Life is so cruel & we do the best we can, but in the end it's down to fate isn't it & we are helpless . . . XXX

    I’m Homed

I have had an email from Paige's owners to say that they feel they cannot cope with having a dog and therefore she is being returned. She will make a wonderful addition to someones family - I am absolutely certain as she was golden at our house when she stayed.

Ruth, you continue to be an inspiration for the hard work you do to home so many beautiful greyhounds but also as you show so much love and consideration for those that need your very special care for a time. You are very brave and I don't doubt that Lucy appreciates all that you have already done and all that you will do to make her life easier. You are in my thoughts and prayers. xx

Lulu sounds wonderful. Would Lulu be ok to live with small furries? We have a rabbit, this to me isn't a good combination. What are your thoughts? xx

Lucy has been doing really well - the swelling had started to go down and she seems a happy contented girl at ours. However, we have just had a devastating phone call from the vets. Unfortunately histology has confirmed they removed a grade 3 Mast Cell Tumour and they think this is more than likely to be a secondary. We are heartbroken. We want to take her on the best walks she can go on, the nicest treats we can find and shower her with as much love as we can before it is time to say goodbye to her.
