Kerry covered the kennels yesterday for me and I popped up before closing to see the inmates! Kerry told me she was worried about Joy as she was very down and wouldn't eat..... I went into her kennel - immediately she leapt to her feet and gave me lots of kisses and cuddles - her tail wagging...... I must admit I have been spoiling her and everyday she comes into the kitchen and gets lots of TLC during the day and of course she hadn't done this as the kitchen had been so busy. She is a clever girl - knows what she wants and gives a lot in return. I hope someone falls in love with her soon.

My beautiful black girl Izzy is a big grey and quite bouncy, and because of this she had been in kennels for a year when we homed her. People passed her by because she looked as "mad as a box of frogs" as the saying goes. We have had her just over a year and she is still bouncy with a real love of life and a great love of people. We are so glad we gave her a chance, and to prove she didn't put us off she has a brother and a younger sister now as well. All of them different characters and personalities, but blend together to balance us humans and show us how to take life as it comes and just luv one another. I am sure this girl would be the same. She has been waiting too long, please give her a chance someone xxx

Got him home for a trial tonight and have left them seperated for now, cant do any more trauma forthis weekend! We've been for a couple of walkies and he's done his thing in the garden. He's stretched out in front of us now dozing after initailly pacing and panting - no doubt yesterdays adventures still fresh in his mind. I know there's work to do but we're gonna stick with it as I'm sure he'll be worth it. Thanks so much to Ruth for looking after me yesterday and big thanks to Kerry for today for giving me sound advice and hope! xx

yeeeeaaaahhhhh! Sindy has found her feet - she came out of her cage (door is permanently open for her to come and go) and scoffed a great big bowl of dinner tonight. She hasn't eaten since Friday and I didn't want her to go to her new home until she had bounced back after op.

My goodness - we had a truly horrible time yesterday. We took Harrison to meet the cat who he was going to live with. The cat was not impressed at all at Harrision and decided to sink her teeth into Tina's hand whilst being held and lashed out at Harrison too. Blood everywhere - cat shot off, Harrison shocked and a trip to A&E to bandange Tina's hand....... I hope you are feeling ok Tina - big hugs - I know how heartbroken you are but your poor cat just isn't dog friendly! xxx lots of love xxxx

Bob (now called Riley)
I’m Homed
Well Bob (now Riley) has been at home for his third week now and he's settling in famously! 🙂 It only took him 3-4 days to get used to the stairs up to our front door, he's been eating really well, enjoying lots of fuss and been sleeping through the nights. Only one accident (which was our fault for not reading his signals..) in his first week and we had out first trip to the vets the other day to get his boosters done and to sort out a mukky ear and he was a really good boy, the vet loved him 🙂 Walks have been a dream and leaving him hasn't been a problem at all. Everyone who meets him absolutely falls in love with him, from random people on walks through to all of our family members, he's far more popular than us! He pays little or no attention to other dogs, although I think the firmest friend he's made so far was a mad little girl whippet we met in the pet shop - she just loved him and he seemed to love her too <3 We want to thank Daybreaks for all their hard work and we hope to see some of you (and the hounds) on some of the walks and social events soon x
