We saw Kylie today, and took her out for a walk. She was lovely, and I am disappointed that she has been reserved as I was hoping to call back to see her again with the view to offering her a forever home. Oh well, never mind, I guess it wasn't meant to be. Has she definatley been reserved ?

Well first day went well, 2 walks with 3 dogs and didn't get tangled! He ate tea with gusto, slept well last night and no accidents...so far. Buddy was beside himself when he saw him, whining and doing a little dance and Charlie gave him a kiss (Jack wasn't impressed, they had only just met after all!) Much to my relief his tail doesn't stop wagging and he's started to play with the toys. At the moment he's sleeping behind me on a duvet, bottom to bottom with Charlie, very cute!

Well, we picked Leo up today and we certainly know he's arrived. He's a real character and so full of life! He was absolutely fine in the car coming home. We took him straight into the garden where he obliged with a wee. Then he explored the house, showing us that stairs are no problem for him. First thing we had to do was get him off our water bed! He walked on the lead fine when we took him to New Hall Country Park for his walk. Then a quick visit to 'Pets at Home' which he seemed to love. He demolished his dinner in about 20 seconds and eventually dozed off. Now he's calmed down and seems to be getting used to the strange surroundings. It's a learning experience for all of us but it's going to be worth it - he's adorable!!

    Over the Rainbow Bridge

Minty is such a gentle lady, although last night we did have an accident on the toilet front, she has taken to John when he leaves for work she is crying but getting less & less, I feel she has been in a house before for one or two reason but particularly she's not bothered by the vacum as my two other grey's were at first. Such a lovely lady. SYLV

You are right! He is an absolute sweetheart. We had a group of disabled children visit the kennels yesterday in their wheelchairs. Although nervous, he met the children and was fussed by them. When he had enough, he ran straight back to his kennel (he knows where he lives!)...... so clever!

  • Percy

    I’m Homed

Hi, just read about Percy and his peeing.. we use a baby gate between the kitchen and living room, for the cats safety mainly, but its a really good idea for you too as you will only have a small area to clean and manage him better with his leg cocking, have you tried the squirt of a water bottle with a firm 'NO' as he does it then really praise him when he gets it right ? I have treated our 2 Greys like you would treat a little toddler, they are not programmed with 'why' they shouldnt do something - they just need to be conned into doing something right LOL ! Plenty of yummy things and lots of love and praise. Please dont give up on your beautiful boy, it can be hard work but they are so worth it, we had our 2nd Grey in October and she isnt very good friends with our Cat, unlike our other Grey, but she is definately makeing progress slowly but surely, they need time to adjust etc and accept the new rules of the house. One day you will notice his eyes will no longer glaze over and something will finally click and the no peeing in the house rule will be in his head. The book that Emma has suggested Jan Fennell's book 'The Dog Listener' is really good and helpfull for any dog owner. Good luck in your progress with Percy, Lea xx
