Poor girl, in trouble for wanting to join in for a play, always said the Wii got kids over excited! Taking your hound for a walk is much healthier. Fraid the wii would have had to go!!! Hang in there girl, your forever home will soon be found x

    I’m Homed

If you insist Pam, any excuse to tell you all how Gent is doing because we're so proud of him! We've had no problems with toilet training, although he does try to fool us by pretending to do a wee, because he knows he gets a treat afterwards! Wags his tail at every dog he sees in the park and stops for a nose if they are playing without him! Happy to take some fuss from some children playing in the park today, although I'm sure he'd have been off with their ball given the chance - he's off like Scooby Doo in the garden with his ball! Training him to do things little by little and got him to wait on his bed when we eat until we've cleared away, when he gets another treat. He'll even wait for you to bring the treat to him, rather than charging at the fridge! Can't imagine life without him. Mand x PS Thanks for dropping off his vaccination papers Pam, we've put it together with all his documents.

    Over the Rainbow Bridge

Writing this while James sitting in his favourite place by the fire. His progess has been remarkable over the past four months, it is an illustration for anyone with "problem" greyhounds. It hasn't been easy at all but with a bit of time, training and love it makes all the difference. He is still not perfect when he sees other dogs but we had an example yesterday on one of his favourite longs walks over Kinver Edge where a dog was two feet away from him and he hardly reacted. Around the house James is perfect, he is a model example of how any dog should be around the house. He has learnt to wait for his tea, to lie down to have his collar put on, he also waits before he entering a room and told to come in. He is lovely when he goes to visit our Mother-in-Law who was really worried about big dogs, he behaves so well. He is so lovely with Rose our other greyhound, he is so courteous with her, a proper gentleman. The advice we can give other owners is not too wholly focus on the dog but it is more about how you concentrate on yourself when you are controlling and looking after the dog. Hi Francey, we have a male Grey and a big pudding of a cat who live together and even snuggle up together to sleep! apart from the initial couple of days of arriving home with him when our cat told him off by hissing, we have had no other bad words between them. Go on have a Grey, you may have to wait a bit longer for your special boy/girl who is cat friendly but they are worth it X !

Hi Francey I have 2 cats and 2 greys and they are a happy little gang! My cats are house cats so they had never even seen a dog before, but they coped remarkably well. The boy cat took to the greys straightaway but the girl cat hid and hissed at them for the first few weeks...she's still the boss now! My 2 greys have always been really well behaved around them. They are not bothered by anything small and fluffy (or feathery!), unless it is a squirrel - in which case they go barmy! Good luck! Em x

message for goldie, please don't let the size put you off, out of my 3 greys the most gentle with children is the biggest boy who is nearly 40kg and very tall - my smaller boy is far too lively and he'll knock anyone flying... just because they are big does not mean that they are not careful. Harry is so very gentle and he is a big softie. xxx
