Daybreaks Diary!

I would firstly like to thank Denise for coming in today. She likes to get in early, so when Dave and I arrived at 'normal' time the kennels were cleaned, dogs fed and cats sorted! She did have some help, so thanks to her helpers for coming in! Liz_Beth came in for morning walks, thanks so very much to her for coming in. She normally loves to take a dog to the park, but with Lynne and Simon being out of action at the moment Liz's help is very much appreciated with our normal walking routine. Bobby had a viewing this morning, thanks so very much to Helen and Amy his foster family for bringing him in, I know they were very tempted to keep him, but he has found a super home with a sister/friend who had very recently lost her greyhound companion. They got on really well, so consequently they decided to give him his forever home. So very happy for him. Barney is still a little unsettled in kennels, so he spent a big part of the day in the feeding run on a bed with lots of blankets. He was so happy. There was interested in fostering him, unfortunately one of the families existing greys was not so keen, they were very disappointed, but things have to be right for all concerned. Lots of sand run bookings, a bedding donation and lovely to see Ruby Rebel who came in for food (accompanied by his owners of course)! We also had a new arrival, Lauren a beautiful blue girl. Thanks to Dave and Lynne (who popped in briefly with Simon to use the sand run) for bathing her and doing her health check. If you haven't seen it already there is a fabulous raffle prize of a luxury dog hamper up for grabs. There is a VERY BIG Caterpillar toy, loads of toys and lovely doggie treats and fab luxury dog food. Lots of people who came in bought tickets and there was lots of interest over the phone. If you would like tickets please give us a call, we can take payment over the phone and give you your ticket numbers. There will also be a hamper for the humans amongst us which will be posted very soon (that too looks greyt)! Hopefully and fingers crossed we may soon be able to get back to normal....whatever that will be. Here's hoping for a good week ahead this week. Take care all. X

It was such a shame things didn't work out well when Locky met the Labradoodle today. His prospective family were very sad as they really wanted to be able to take him home. Xx I'm sure spending some time with Erik and his family will be great for him. Xxx

It was really lovely to see Tracey and her family again and it was brilliant to see Nidge reserved! He got on very well with gorgeous Milo and Casey. He throughly enjoyed having a wander around the kennels and even picked out a martingale collar for himself from the office. Think he was trying to tell Tracey he should go home with her! :)). Xxx

It was a busy day with lots of visitors for the sand run and clients for nail clipping and corns. :)) It was such a shame Locky and the his prospective family's Labradoodle didn't hit it off, she was a very lovely girl. Xx They are undeterred and are still hoping to find the right Greyhound to join their family. Xxx Late this afternoon lovely Nidge found himself reserved! :)) Xxx Thanks to Jayne for putting together the fabulous Easter doggy raffle prize! :)) The giant fluffy caterpillar is amazing! I know Ruth took photos for our Facebook page.... :)) Thanks so much to everyone for your help today. Despite the rain, wind and hailstones the residents had both morning and afternoon walks. 🙂 I had the pleasure of taking new lad Barney, he walks very nicely on the lead. 🙂 Another new arrival due tomorrow! Xx Xxx

Ruth, thank you so much for introducing us to Nidge today, he found his way into my heart within minutes and also got instant approval from his new brother & sister, Milo & Casey. We can’t wait to take him home with us next weekend! It was also lovely to see you all & please say thank you to Kate & the other lovely lady (apologies I don’t know her name) who also instantly knew what to say to ensure that Nidge found his new forever home, mind you I didn’t need persuading, it was love at first sight! Sending Nidge lots of love & cuddles & a big thank you to Ruth for another successful match made in heaven! Xxx
