Daybreaks Diary!

Wow, we had two viewings today resulting in two reservations, Hawk and Chip were the lucky boys. Thanks to Dave (whose birthday was also yesterday), Chris and Liz for their help today, you are all fab. Ruth was in this morning, she went home this afternoon as she has been in all week, no doubt she didn't take it easy and have a well deserved rest (well we are talking about Ruth)!!! The remaining boys are all so very lovely. Ritchie is struggling at the moment, he is a bit stressed and as Ruth said he really would benefit in going into a foster home. He spent some time in the back kitchen with Dave's Maisie Moo and was great, they both later came into the office, he was so well behaved and completely relaxed. Please if you could offer to foster him we (and he) would be so very grateful. The sand run is proving to be increasing in popularity and is getting fully booked most days. If you would like to come along and use the run please book well in advance to avoid disappointment! Just a reminder, if you need to visit the kennels please call in advance for an appointment, this will keep both yourselves and us safe. As always, stay safe and well. I really can't wait to see our volunteers who have not been able to come in, hopefully they will be able to come in soon. Angie, I will partake in a glass of wine or two on your behalf, hope to see you soon (you write a much better Friday diary than I do)! X

Daybreaks Diary!

It was a great day yesterday with celebrating all the Birthdays! I took Ritchie into the sand run as he seems a bit stressed - he really would benefit from going into foster so if someone could offer this, we would be really grateful. As he needs some socialisation with other breeds, we need an experienced greyhound owner for him. He is quite petite for a boy so easier to handle than some of the bigger fellas! The very handsome Peaky is still coming home with me since his return at the weekend. He is such a gentle big loving boy and is becoming best friends with his stripy partner in crime - Miss Tiggy! We have two viewings booked for today so keep your fingers crossed for all our beautiful residents xxxx

It was great to see our new arrivals in the light today! :)) They are all gorgeous :)) Little Sky had a viewing first thing this morning and found herself a lovely forever home with a very handsome Greyhound Brother. :)) Xxx Sarah has also found her forever home...she just needs to meet her two prospective Greyhound Brothers at the weekend. I'm sure they will love her! :)) Xxx Lots of Birthdays to celebrate today, Momma, Mr Magoo and our great volunteer Declan. :)) Xxx It was a sunny afternoon which meant Lucy has been able to take some beautiful photos of our residents! She was assisted by Shirley and Richard. :)) Many thanks to Liz for taking Richie for a trip to the park this afternoon. I know they both enjoyed being out in the sunshine. 🙂 Xx Thanks to everyone for their help today....Alan brought in chocolate donuts! He hasn't been able to get any since the first lockdown last year!!! Hoping all of our boys will soon find their forever homes! Please give us a call at the kennels on 0121 782 7702 if you want to come and meet them! :)) Xxx

Ritchie

Ritchie came for a long walk with me today to Elmdon Park. He is a happy chap and enjoys being out of his kennel. We walked around a very muddy nature reserve and his eyes were like saucers. He was very alert and keenly watched out for any sign of movement. His ears were constantly pricked as he took everything in. We saw quite a few dogs from afar and up close. He needs a bit more practice when it comes to meeting other breeds, but he did get thrown in the deep end today! There were lots of children around today, as well as people whizzing past on bikes. This didn't faze him at all. He has a lovely soft coat and loves any attention he can get. Hoping he finds his family soon xx
