We adopted Shelly a year ago today, it has gone so quickly. She is a joy to have as part of our family, she has gained a lot more confidence, now greeting everyone with a wag of her tail instead of moving away. She loves her food and bed, and always want to give kisses to the cat, but the cat won’t have any of it! Thank you Daybreaks for letting us bring her home, we love her. Happy gotcha day Shelly. X

Wet, cold and miserable summed up today. Lorna had several pamper sessions kicking off with my favourite bridle lurcher Enzo! Thanks for the donations that were brought in. We also had people come to look around the kennels and get the lowdown on greyhounds to hopefully adopt in the future. Thanks to Lynne, Simon and Dave for giving their expert advice. Even though the weather was not good we still had brave people bring their dogs to use the sand run! Laddie was the only kennel dog left tonight :(( I have heard he has gone out on foster for a couple of day's. Thanks for fostering him. X Well....not far from Christmas now, we still have a few calendars and Christmas cards left but you will need to get in quickly to avoid disappointment! Once again, stay safe and well. Xx

Prince is still very cheeky but he is so confident which refreshing! He’s very beautiful and loves a fuss! Everything happens for a reason and he slots into our life perfectly! Thank you for letting us have this fostering time with him now he has his forever home!

A whirlwind of a day! 🙂 Lindy went off to her new home first thing this morning. She is such a lovely girl. Xxx A lovely family came in to meet Hercules and Laddie...they were very torn between them and even considered taking them both! However they decided to offer Hercules his forever home with them. :)) Ruth was very happy to carry out his homing. 🙂 Wishing him a great new life. Xx Granite, now called Holly was officially adopted. She popped in later with her Mom and Dad and was still a mad little bundle of fun! :)) When all went quiet at the kennels, I was amazed to see it was 3pm! As Laddie was the only dog left, Ruth took him home....we have viewings tomorrow. It would be great if he finds himself a home. He is a very sweet lad, got on great with all the visiting Greyhounds but was very excited to meet the cats! So not cat friendly. Xx Thanks is much to Patric and his Mum for taking care of the chucks this morning. Thanks Rosie for all your help! :)) Xxx

Shanishoo - met Laddie this morning and he really is lovely but I'm biased as he's another relative of my Sam and Nadie. He's a little nervous at the moment but was still interested in us. If he's like Sam and Nadie he'll absolutely love people and be a great addition to the family. x

  • Eoghan (Blue)

    Over the Rainbow Bridge

Hi Lucy, thanks hun....am feeling better after having a lovely chat with the Manager at the sheltered accommodation where Alan lives. I think Kate had mentioned to him where Eoghan was going & although he is missing him dreadfully he is delighted he is with family. We spoke about possibly visiting him next year when we are allowed to mix. Emma said all of the residents would love to see Eoghan again and meet all the boys. It might be nice although I would totally understand if Alan would feel too upset and of course I have to think about Eoghan. They were very close which may be why Eoghan is still crying at times, not eating fully and scared of going out. However, he is very friendly and keeps coming for reassuring cuddles and the boys wont leave him at all so are not even coming upstairs to me!! Oh the bliss of having a bed to myself! I am hoping he might feel better after his dental next week. At least he is eating all his treats so that is a positive. Funtime in the sand run would be good. Hopefully next April/May when the weather is warmer and restrictions are lifted. I am sure the boys would love Jet. He is such a sweet boy. Am delighted he is gentle with Mia. They seem to know don't they when they have to be. My heart goes out to Alan. It reminds me that one day unless one is like Prince Philip, or my Dad, that we all get to a point where life winds down more quickly than we would wish. My Mum always said that the ageing process was about loss. It certainly was in her case. It terrifies me which is probably why I keep pushing myself to keep busy whether its work or having multiple boys!!! Maybe I will be more like my Dad. He was 88 today, looks 10 years younger, says he feels no different to when he was 58 and is just a bundle of energy!! Must be the joys of having a partner 26 years younger. Look after yourself hun. Hope you all enjoy the festive season whatever you do. Xxx
