Well I met some people today where Dad works then went out for a walk with someone new ( with Dad of course as well) , who am I kidding it was the longest WALK I've ever been on in my life EVER and I kept getting called "Jessica Jones" , but Daddy Jeff thought the name was fun , Celia explains it better than me. Friendly young man that took us though , of course I jumped up at him and gave him a hug when I met him , I wouldn't be me without doing that. If I can just get some sleep , I'd do it all again , sorry so tired now can't speak anymore ....Jess xx

Well Jeff took us to a very different place today , he said it was were he gos when he leaves us for 7 hours , I think he called it "Work" or something ,I met a few people that dad calls "his boss" and "other staff" ( haven't got a clue what he's on about) then this nice young man came out of the house and we had a walk with him , God he can walk me and Jess were knackered when we got home. ( you may know I work in a Care Home with Adults with Autism and learning difficulties so to be able to do this is absolutely fantastic interaction for My girls... Jeff )

Handsome George came with me to Sheldon Country Park today. He travelled well in the car and was even confident enough to jump in on his own in the way back to the kennels. He is a very friendly boy and enjoys his cuddles. We met quite a few different breeds of dog and he was fine with them. He is a bit interested when he sees them running in the distance, but who can blame him! He walks at a good pace and is an excellent companion. He's such a good looking boy. Fingers crossed his second viewing tomorrow goes well xx

Another quiet day at the kennels today, it's all very strange!! We had a couple of sand run users, food collections and Scooby went out on foster this afternoon. George had a visit today and met the family greyhound, he has a second visit tomorrow to make sure they are still friends!!

It was a quiet day at the kennels today. By the time I arrived Angie and Michael had already fed Scooby and George and cleaned their kennels. Thanks so much! :)) Dave came in with Maisie, he spent most of the day cleaning. The office has never looked so clean! Thanks Dave. :)) We had visitors to purchase food and use the sand run. 🙂 Jan and I took George and Scooby out for a walk this afternoon. They had lots of "tests" along the way! First we saw a squirrel, then a collie dog. Next we saw two bicycles and finally a black cat sat right in the middle of the lane! They were both interested, especially in the cat but they were very good and didn't react very much at all. :)) It was a beautiful Autumn afternoon and it was lovely to see them both enjoying all the sights and smells. Xxx Thinking of all the animals who have had to endure another night of fireworks! Fletcher and Lyra have spent the evening in the wardrobe again! It does look very cosy in there with a big duvet and blanket. I'm hoping there will be less going off tomorrow. Xxx

We carried on with the major clean & tidy of the empty kennels first thing. The lovely sunshine gave us the opportunity to empty everything outside and get up on steps to reach those pesky cobwebs and really give everywhere a thorough spring clean - something you just can't do with doggies in residence. We did have 2 new arrivals late morning - the boys had booked their rooms at Daybreaks before we heard about lockdown. They are both beautiful. Scooby is a very bouncy, friendly soul who will shower you with kisses, and who loved being out on his afternoon walk - striding out with ears up, everything of interest, keen to be on the move but not too strong. George in contrast is much quieter, a little more wary and very handsome. Here's hoping that they will soon find themselves in a lovely foster home. As lockdown number 2 gets under way we are still offering the use of the sand run and food sales - but please remember it is essential to phone and book an appointment before visiting the kennels. Let's all do our bit to stay safe and well and get this horrid virus under control. It is a definite red wine kind of evening - raising my glass to all our boys & girls currently out in foster homes, hope they are behaving themselves and enjoying a little taste of home.
