I had a lovely cuddle with Rocky today! He is adorable, started by leaning on me and ended up sitting on my knee! Xxx

A quiet day for a Saturday....I enjoyed being able groom some of the dogs and carry our a health check on our lovely lad Gold. Xx A big thank you to all our volunteers; as usual just as everyone was ready to go for a walk it poured with rain! Dave and Patrick had the thankless task of collecting up the fallen leaves in the driveway only to see them replaced by more! They did a great job! :)) It was great to be able to spend extra time with our current residents, all of them gorgeous! 🙂 We left them tucked up in fleeces and heaters on tonight...Autumn is here! Xxx

Wow what an eventful day! I finally understand what a caravan is. It’s very nice... I’ve already stole the sofa, the bed, all the food and oh the bin. There is a washing up bowl but unfortunately it’s inside this silver thing which I can’t get to! I FINALLY GOT ON THE BEACH!!! Yay I was so excited to get there I was dragging my hoomans along with me. They looked very silly trying not slip on the sand while I was pulling! It was very cold in burnham though... There were so many boxes earlier you couldn’t see the caravan! It’s all sorted now! There is a lovely fenced garden so it’s all secure for me. I look forward to tomorrow now! Russ Xx

Someone help me please! My hoomans have gone crazy. They have stocked the house up with boxes! I have no idea what is going here. They tell me that we are going to the caravan for the first time tomorrow. I have no idea what they are going on about! What’s a caravan? What is burnham on sea? They say I will like it as the holiday park have a private beach for doggies! Sounds exciting I love the beach. They say we can go when ever we like to this caravan thing. Suppose I’ll find out what it is tomorrow! They also stole a handful of my toys and put them in boxes! They are mine why are you hiding them from me not fair... and my blanket I want them back. They brought me a new bed and put away in a box straight away! RUDE! Daddy put the recycling by the back door earlier ready to go out to the bin. I thought I’d be helpful and recycle them for him by ripping it all up and leaving it on the living room floor. Not sure how impressed he was though! Lubs to all Russ Xx

I’m Homed
This sweet little girl has been with us for 5 days. She settled really quickly, getting on with our 3 with no problem. She was a bit nervous to start with but has got more confident with each day. She is clean in the house, sleeps downstairs with no problem, and is happy to wait for her meals for whatever time we give them (there’s always some flexibility depending on what we’re doing). She gets very excited to see us in the mornings and if we’ve been out - when I get back from work, even though Paul’s been at home with her, she is sooooo excited to see me! And the same at walk time! She actually gets too excited with jumping up and can nibble too but she settles down if I turn round or look away and ignore her until she calms down. She has also started to play, with lots of bowing and then fast running with her bum tucked in and she even did one fast turn today in the lounge - none of ours have ever done this so we were as excited as her! She is as good as gold on walks. Likes to be at the front but there are no issues if one of the others is in front of her. She has met a few dogs of different sizes and has shown a bit of interest but generally isn’t bothered. She was very keen on a cat that dashed out from under a nearby car one day so I would say isn’t currently cat friendly but may be trainable. We think she will be easy to train generally as she wants to please and responds to treats. She is such a lovely girl and I so hope she finds her forever sofa soon, preferably with another dog as she needs the company. Fingers crossed for you sweet Molly xxx

Daybreaks Diary!
I’m Homed
Well, the weather turned out much better than promised - in fact it was a lovely Autumn day. Paddy went off the the Vet for his castrate this morning - he was not too impressed as he watched all his pals come out for their breakfast and he didn't get any!!! We had nice morning and afternoon walks in the lovely sunshine, newbies Rocky & Jewel were happy to be out exploring their new surroundings. Jewel is a little sweetheart, so happy and friendly and inquisitive and Rocky is a very handsome boy who likes a fuss. It was Jo's Sarah's 12th birthday today so she had a little party with her friends Arry and Maisie which included sossidge bobbing - something she is very good at. She also very kindly shared her lovely picnic lunch of chicken paste sandwiches with the kennel dogs, and Tiggy and Momma who had popped in with Ruth for a few hours today. The kennel dogs loved their special treat - there was much lip smacking and sniffing in case there were any more sandwiches hidden away somewhere!!! I spent some time sorting & tidying again - talk about trying to get a quart into a pint pot (I am showing my age now, lol!!). I always feel things are not quite so overwhelming if they are in nice tidy stacks against a wall! Well another weekend has come around - I'm sure someone is taking days out of the week time is flying by so fast!! With viewings booked, keep your fingers crossed for a lovely red sign or two - I shall raise my glass of wine a little later in anticipation. Take care one and all - stay safe. Cheers! Angie xx

Well, today was Sarah Scare Bears 12th birthday. She was diagnosed with chronic lymphoid leukemia 6 weeks ago and yesterday started with medication. She is happy in herself, eating well and did partake in sausage bobbing this afternoon with Arry and Maisie Moo (she got 5 sausages and Arry and Maisie had 1 and a half each from the tin as they couldn't get the hang of the bobbing bit)!! She also shared her picnic lunch with the kennel dogs, Tiggy and Momma. She has had a lovely day at the kennels and will celebrate tonight with sausage, mash and veg!

It was great to see Nifty, Cilla and Flo at the kennels today. Cilla went home with a new winter coat. 🙂 Poor Nifty had a spot that Ruth enjoyed getting rid of it for him....don't think he was very impressed! Xxx
