Brandy and Cola , My favourite just need to get him away from the desk, he says he took Carrie to see Mummy and Teddy and Eve Today but she hasn't come back , Oh well just move mate just for one second because I want that Brandy , I think I'm going to miss Carrie if she doesn't come back but maybe she will , I loved cuddling up to her she was sort of like my mum

I could be sad but that probably wasn't what you would have wanted me to be, I'm now going to have to pick up more poo than ever now you aren't here to eat it , I love you Cheeky Monkey and I always will , You replaced Eve in my life and gave me something very different and special . From the lucky Human that's shared 8 years of his life with a Legend AKA Jeff Carrie Im actually not crying Im just relived you only went downhill so suddenly and remained Stoic until the very last minute almost for me and didn't give me months of pain and worry , Yesterday morning you were scratching my back as you always have and I'm going to miss that , I promised you on day one that "I will never hurt you" and I would never let you be hurting ,Today ,Last night and this morning she was clearly not with me anymore but she will always be with me now. I Love you so much Monkey

Daybreaks Diary!

My goodness what a quiet day it was today. We only had Gold, Bea and Rocky in residence, so they were 3 very pampered pooches indeed!! They enjoyed morning walks and afternoon sand run playtime, except poor old Rocky who is still recuperating from a broken hock so could not have a run around & had to make do with an on lead stroll. We put raised beds in the feeding runs and the 3 residents passed the day sitting outside watching the world go by - enjoying lots of one to one time with us, playing, grooming and cuddling. Poor Bea really doesn't enjoy being in the kennel, she just wants some company and to see what's happening around her. We muzzled her up and popped her in the kitchen run with Chris's Molly - and after the initial "getting to know you" time, Bea sat on a bed and was quiet and seemed settled. Really hope she can start to relax and become less stressed soon as she is a real sweetheart. Rocky is another who is vocal in his kennel and prefers to be out where he can see what's going on. He was beautifully settled outside and even had a little play with some toys. Mr Gold continues to be a little treasure. He is very calm and relaxed in the kennels and doesn't make a sound. He stood beautifully today to have his teeth and ears cleaned, then enjoyed a play with a tennis ball. He absolutely loves tuna fish - after he had eaten his dinner there were a few flakes of tuna left stuck around the bowl, so I scraped them together with my finger and he very gently licked them off my finger, then had a good lick of the rest of my hand just in case there was any more on offer!!! As is usual on quiet days I did my Mrs Mop impression again - strange how I am not as keen to do cleaning at home as I am at the kennels!! Well another weekend is here - the time is racing by. I shall raise my glass to toast Daybreaks - it's residents, it's amazing volunteers and fabulous supporters. xx Have a good, safe weekend one and all. Cheers! Angie xx

Little Bea... such a sweet girl who is very stressed at the minute. She craves the company of people, I took her into the Sandrun so she could get out of the kennels. She took no interest in toys even the squeaky ones ! She just wanted to be by you. Xx

Poor little Bea is finding her change of home very stressful at the moment. She cried and barked most of the day. Hoping she will soon start to settle. She is such a cute little girl who just needs lots of tlc at the moment. Xxx

A big cuddle for Morris tonight. He arrived at 10ish this morning and by lunchtime he had found himself a fabulous home! He is a very handsome lad, just like his brother Jasper! His four paws didn't have time to touch the ground! Wishing him a very, very happy new life. Xxx

I arrived to meet new boy Morris this morning and by the time I had returned from the warehouse run he had bagged himself a new home. Reckon this must be a contender for the fastest rehoming award. Brother to Jasper (Linford) he's a lovely handsome lad. We hope you have many happy times ahead xx

Lexie has settled in so quickly; things are going well with Barney and she’s even copying some of his roaching moves. She loved her first morning cuddle with Abi and gives great kisses. She absolutely adores her walks and already has helped Barney massively with his confidence when walking by busy roads with loud traffic noise. Like our other greyhounds, she likes Paul’s slippers (for some bizarre reason!). They’re both chilling this evening following a day of walkies, zoomies and playing catch with their toys. Lexie and Barney are looking forward to seeing everyone at Daybreaks soon, using the sand run and even more cuddles and kisses.

Daphne is settling in really well- she has already discovered how comfortable the sofa is! We’re taking her introduction to our cat slowly- so far she has only shown interest when he is playing or running, so we are going to work with her to reduce her reactions to these triggers. She slept really well her first night here, and there was no howling or crying when she was put in her room over night. She is completely housetrained and we have not had any accidents. She is so sweet and lovely, and is enjoying lots of cuddles and love. Her favourite treat so far is cheese! Photo updates to follow when I have worked out how to upload them
