Charlie gets my cuddle today as he's the one who hasn't been reserved out of the 3 newcomers. I'm sure it isn't because he's black but, anyone looking for a fantastic companion, don't overlook the black residents. I have 3 and they are beautiful with their gleaming coats and gorgeous eyes. Hopefully it'll be your turn this weekend Charlie. See you tomorrow. x

Simon & Kayla, we are heartbroken for you on the loss of beautiful little Nina. We remember your gorgeous girl (& you both) well from our Saturday morning training sessions. Having lost Rosie suddenly on 3rd August (she went for a wee in the garden & didn’t make it back in as she too broke her leg; the emergency X-ray revealed she had bone cancer, so we had to make the hardest decision ever and allow our fabulous first furbaby to run pain free over rainbow bridge). You are in our thoughts.... Tash, John & Brae xxx

Today I was greeted by a very friendly greyhound who wanted cuddles and attention. Little did I know that this was Charlie and I would be taking him for a walk in Sutton Park today. We were very lucky as it turned out a beautiful day to walk in Sutton Park. Charlie was not keen on getting into my car. Once he was in there has lay down and I did not hear him or she him. When we arrived at Sutton Park he was keen to jump out of the car. On the way back it was the same not keen but lay down and did not see or hear him, so he is a very good but reluctant traveller. We start the walk, you know it has been some time since I had such a relaxed walk, there was no pulling. He was walking in front and weaving left to right, easily solved by shortening the lead, and then he walks happily next to you. I am not sure if Charlie was still in shock about being at daybreaks but during the walk we met, cyclists, runners, toddlers non that fazed him. two things I did find interesting and curious. He had an interest and wanted to greet people. He was unsure and the canine language was almost I see you but I don’t want to know you. The defensive look away. He did this with a number of dogs. He is absolutely fine with other Greyhounds meets and greets them fine. Maybe it is just a case of not having seen many other dogs and just being standoffish. When we returned to the kennel we also did a cat test, I did say, if he behaves the same as with the dogs we met, he will pass with flying colours. This is what Charlie did, the cat was purring and rubbing against his legs. Not a problem, so that is a positive sign. Charlie, I think it is only your second day in the kennel and already done a great walk in the big world out there. It was a real pleasure and so easy to walk you with no pulling at all. You done brilliant, thank you for the walk and I hope to see re-homed on you very soon.

Can someone tell me what has happened please ,so I was quiet comfy at Deybreaks 5 Star Hotel , and then I got taken away , Luckily with Princess Jess,( I couldn't imagine doing this on my own) to this house then the car we were in broke down and a nice man came to fix it , then we came to this house with another greyhound called Cheeky monkey who knew everything about him , then we had a swimming pool downstairs for a day and then now the greyhound called cheeky monkey has gone , this is exactly why I have that bewildered look on my photo , I haven't got a clue what's going on , all I know is this black fizzy liquid tastes great as do pancakes , I know they are called pancakes because Jeff says "don't eat my pancakes" , I'm sure everything is fine but I just don't want to go anywhere else , Im quiet happy and I spotted Jeff looking in the Amazon yesterday for new beds for me and Princesss Jess , Yes that's right we are getting new beds from the biggest rainforest on the planet , I need a poo , excuse me

Over the Rainbow Bridge
Seriously this is my last post on Carries page , Unlike when any of my dogs have gone before because they have never gone so quick , I've been finding it hard to let that emotion out , The only way I can describe it is like when my other dogs have died before its been like a pan boiling over , Carrie seems to be a bit more like a pressure cooker feeling where it lets of a little bit at a time , anyway I was having a moment earlier and the puppies were settled on the bed , so I looked at Celia and Jess lying there , they looked so settled and cute and got up to give them a cuddle , Celia immediately jumped up on my desk , drank my Coke and ate my pancake and knocked the speaker off. I was walking to work on Sunday though and this tiny little feather fell from the sky right in front of my face. I've kept it and its going to be sealed in acrylic with some of Eves hair and forget me not flowers in the shape of a dog on the Moon on Friday Monkey , you were the most characterful and loving girl I've ever had the good fortune to be be and I still love you so much. Most dogs stop going out for a wee and wee in the house in the last Days or weeks but Carrie was totally the opposite , she started showing the puppies where to go for a wee ...outside. I even had a dream last night that she was alive , which somewhere she probably is. I love you Monkey and I will miss you so much , you knew so much about me in such a short time. Thank you for being with me Jeffrey xxx

Over the Rainbow Bridge
Just an update, a sad one unfortunately! Our beautiful girl nina passed away on 25th September. The last few months of her life were a bit of a rollercoaster, back in May she chased a cat in the garden and her leg fractured causing her unbelievable pain. We took her to the vets straight away and after a couple of scary days where we thought we’d lost her, due to her having a undiagnosed bleeding disorder called ‘hyper fibrimolyosis’ they managed to repair her leg and she began the recovery process. After keeping her rested for 4 weeks she was recovering very well and was able to start walking again and was beginning to return to many of her normal things. By end of July we noticed a swelling at the location of her fracture and didn’t think much of it and just put it down to her injury. As a couple more weeks went by the swelling increased and in August we took her back to the vets. They looked very concerned as soon as they saw her, and an x-ray confirmed she had Osteosarcoma. Which the vet then explained she’d had a pathological fracture to her leg, it was already in its early stages when her bone broke it just wasn’t detectable on the x-ray. We decided to go down the palliative care route with her as the treatment options didn’t sound great, and she’d been through so much already we just wanted her to enjoy whatever time she had left. She enjoyed a few weeks of walks and treats and plenty of love until she started to decline, which is when we had to make the hardest decision we’ve ever made. She was put to sleep with us at home on her bed, in the best possible way it could have been on 25th September. It broke our hearts and couldn’t believe we were saying goodbye to our little Nina. She was like a ray of sunshine when she came into our lives, and has given us so many happy memories, she loved to play, loved her walks and runs in the fields, loved her sleep! She came on all our holidays with us and even welcomed our two children into her life and was so gentle and playful with them. We loved every second of having her. We miss her like mad. She was the best dog we could have ever wanted. We love you nina xx
