Hi all, just a very polite reminder, we are operating an appointment only system at the kennels due to the current covid restrictions. Please if you need to visit, collect food or pop in for advice, please call first. We are not being awkward, we are following government guidelines to protect staff, volunteers and you lovely visitors. We need to protect everyone so we can continue to run the kennels. Pati came out with me for a few hours today. As Jo said, he was a very good boy and he had a lot thrown at him today! We went over Sheldon Country Park, where he met some horses and donkeys. He was a little alarmed by the noises they made, but was happy to trot past them. We continued our walk and he maintained a good pace. We had a few bikes get quite close to us and some children, but he wasn't bothered by them. On the park he came nose to nose with a spaniel and walked past quite a few small dogs with no reaction. He was interested in dogs running in the distance, but didn't lunge. On the way back to my house we met a chihuahua, who had made a break for it. Pati stood patiently whilst the Chihuahua and the owner ran around us in circles until the owner had caught him. I was really amazed that Pati didn't even flinch. Once back at my house, he had a good nose round and settled in the hallway where he could keep an eye on both the living room and the kitchen. He did later jump up at the sink but a clear 'no' meant all four paws were immediately put back on the floor. He was clean in the house ( there for about 1.5 hours) and did go for a wee in the garden when I took him out. He is a lovely boy and seems really quite relaxed. He travelled well and even jumped into the car on the way to the park. Here's hoping he doesn't have to wait too long for his sofa xx

Forgot to mention this boy went out with Liz_Beth today for an outing, she will post his adventures, but he was by all accounts very good for a first trip out, especially as he only arrived yesterday. X

So sad things didn't work out for her this time. As LM mentioned she did go on a walk this afternoon on a harness and managed a reasonable walk. We will work with her and boost her confidence and address any issues she may have. She is a lovely girl, don't think she will be around for long. X

Hi Raven, we saw you today and you greeted us with joy in your eyes as you do everyone. I was surprised you are still there. I will wisper this in your ear, but my big boss (my wife) told me, if we could you would no longer needing to look for a home. That is a very BIG compliment. You are such a loving girl I really hope you will find the right home soon.

I've just walked Molly down the lane on a harness. She happily walked with the others down the lane. She did decide that she'd had enough about half way. I tried to encourage her to carry on with a treat but she didn't want to. I turned back and she walked happily. She's a bit reluctant to go back in her kennel which is understandable. Hopefully she'll get her forever home soon. She's a sweetheart.

Oh Molly, I am so sad that you have been returned, but don't worry sweetheart, our first Grey Bridget wasn't bothered about going on walks, sometimes she didnt venture out for a week but she was quite happy in the garden, she enjoyed her walks once we got her a brother greyhound called Reggie, maybe you just need some doggie company to give you the confidence you need to want to go out for a walk, you will be fine Molly Moo, don't worry xxxxxxxx

Sadly Molly has been returned today. She has been very reluctant to go out on walks and the family feel that it is her best interests to come back to kennels. She has been good in the house.

I want to say a BIG thank you to everyone who helped out at the kennels last week, whilst I have been away on holiday. So very kind of you all. Xxxxx We have been to Devon and had a great time. My Sister and her lovely Greyhound Max came too. Skip, Lyra, Fletch and Max all enjoyed the change of scene and new smells to sniff! I enjoyed being able to spend lots of time with them, walks along the beach and fresh air! :)) Xxx
