Lovely to see Rodney reserved...I understand he and some of his litter brothers and sisters are named after characters from "Only Fools & Horses" Our friend Sue recently homed his sister Cassie. :)) Xxx

Sam is adorable! He has the most beautiful face and eyes. Very shy at the moment; he wants to come and see you and his tail is wagging but not quite sure if he should. :)) Xxx

This girl is a little bit bonkers!! I went in to lead her up and nearly got headbutted several times!! She was so.excited to be going out and positively pranced along. Her joy at being out and having company was infectious. I don't think she'll be around for too long. Good luck little lady

Linford came with me to Elmdon Park today. He only arrived yesterday and so everything is very new to him. Considering that, he coped well with walking along a very busy A45 to the park entrance and wandering around the park seeing other dogs. He enjoys a good sniff and will you know when he is ready to move on. He will also let you know which path he fancies exploring. Bless him, he deserved to be allowed a few choices on his first foray into life after racing. Good luck handsome boy x

Aidan (Harry)
I’m Homed
Today I had the good fortune to walk Harry in Sutton park. When I collected him he was happy to see me and keen to go. I tried to coerce him into my car but he did not go for that not even with treats. At no point did he want a treat, so his go to treat might well be a toy. He was initially a bit nervous in the car but he soon settled down and lay down in the car. We drove on motorway, A and B roads, not a problem for him. He got up a couple of times to get more comfortable. We did a 45 min walk in Sutton Park, was very busy today so lots of opportunity to she how he did. As always initially he pulled but with a number off corrections he soon was pulling less and now and then had the lead in a smile. He met a number of dogs who were either on lead and off lead. He was curious, he would be alerting but not flow into targeting which is good. He was brilliant with a golden retriever puppy keen to meet and investigate. We had one little moment, when two Pooble, Labrador cross where a bit to enthusiastic for Harry’s liking and he gave them a soft growl. Which was fair enough, I even had to ask to owner to put his dogs on the lead. He uses his body language and canine etiquette really well. At one point when a golden retriever wanted to engage but Harry made it clear he was not interested by turning his head away an not creating eye contact. I was really pleased with Harry’s walk, he responds really well to positive feedback and physical praise when he does something you need him to do. Ohh yes, before I forget he actually likes to engage with humans. During the walk I had it a number of times he would try and engage people. Final thing, he did not get spooked by cyclists as there were quite a number around. Harry, it was a pleasure and privilege meeting you, I wish you well in your forever home. I am sure you will soon settle in. Sorry for the essay 🙂

What a lovely boy you are, Linford. You gave my hands a nice wash when you arrived and did a cute, excited little dance when you saw Emily and Izzy with the lead. I'm sure your forever sofa is not far away. Xx

Well Rodney - that was VERY quick work. When we left at midday you had not long arrived and were being given a nice outdoor bath (as you weren't happy with the indoor one!) . Now you are reserved! Well done, handsome. Xx

Sorry for the late update on yesterday's events, slight technical issue with my tablet, it wouldn't charge! There were 2 lovely new arrivals, Rodney and Linford. Within a couple of hours Rodney was reserved! Thanks to everyone who came in with bedding and donation items for the 'Honesty Box' and to those who came in to help. At least this afternoon we had 3 dogs to walk. We are due 3 new arrivals today, let's see how many are left by the end of the weekend!!

That was very quick work Rodney, but I'm not surprised as you're another Crash boy (grandson). That makes you my Sam's nephew and some sort of cousin (I think) to my new girl Nadie (she's wonderful) and a few other recently rehomed residents. Have a happy retirement and I hope to meet you soon (if you're still at kennels on Sunday I'll see you then). x

Joe, I think you should ask you Mum if you can watch Monty on "Gardeners World" on a Friday night for some tips on how to plant flowers rather than "un-plant" them! :)) Xxx
