Arry (Ares /Tinker)
I’m Homed
Poor Arry has been in the wars. Over the weekend, we think early on Sunday morning he managed to cut his leg, just around the carpal (stopper) pad. Don't know how he did it but it resulted in a 3cm wound. So vet trip this morning, so strange taking on of my own dogs and not a kennel dog! Got to Fivelands and phoned to say I was outside. Then Uncle Christian the vet and hairy man came out, had a look at poor Arry, who obligingly showed his leg, and he took him inside whilst I waited in the van. A while later he emerged with Arry and told me he had cleaned the wound, stapled and dressed it. He said (and don't laugh those of you who know Asbo Arry) what a very good, lovely boy he was. Arry took great pleasure in in lifting his leg to show me his bandage, repeatedly. Follow up in 2 weeks to have the staples removed. Hoping that you, your family and your 4 legged furbabies are staying safe and well. Jo xxx

Sadly we had to let Jo go today. We had 9 amazing years with her and we are so thankful for every minute of them ! Her body gave up and coupled with acute liver failure we made a very difficult decision to let her go to be with her brothers! We may be broken but know that our decision was the best for her. Thank you to Uncle Christian for making it so peaceful despite the necessary distancing in place.

We are running an auction on our Daybreaks trust chat page on Facebook. We have had a donation of 11 pieces of new artwork to help us raised much needed funds. Please have a look and if interested place a bid!!!

Well, although the kennels are closed at the moment, the phone calls are diverted to me at home and there is no chance of being bored! The phone does not stop! However, I did go out this afternoon to go to the warehouse and we are again stocked up with food. On my return I was re-dressing a poorly foot on the pavement outside my house for a very brave greyhound! I will be at the kennels between 12 and 1pm this Saturday. I have had lots of requests for nail clipping and food so if you would like either, please call me on 0121 782 7702 I can book you a time to pop along. Trishazandy - thank you so much - that is great. We have had to cancel so many fundraising events because of the lockdown so we are totally reliant on donations to enable us to keep supporting the foster dogs in our care and ensure we can reopen Daybreaks when the time comes so I would like to say a massive thank you to everyone who has sent us a donation so far. Thanks Shanesmum - good to hear from you - we are doing good and I have been teaching Tiggy to not eat Miss Pepper McNugget and she is doing really well! Momma, on another note, is of the mindset she is still too tempting but getting there..... Danny and Blue who were returned are doing fantastically well in their foster homes - I am so pleased. Thank you to everyone who is fostering at the moment. Please stay safe everyone and please remember I am still at the end of a phone call should you need any help or advice.

Hello one & all! Checking in to see how everyone is doing during this very surreal and difficult time. Hope all our hounds, be they recently homed or in foster care, are doing well and helping their hoomans through this very strange time. Stay at home & stay safe everyone - looking forward to the time when we can get the kennels open again and the Daybreaks family can get back to doing what it does best. Angie xxxx

This is such sad news. You've been such a lovely boy in kennels and I've loved looking after you. You're such a special boy and it's just going to take that bit of time to find you the right home. It's out there somewhere. I hope you enjoy your foster home. I'm sure you'll be very spoilt. x

Yesterday I was laughed at! How rude! I followed daddy upstairs to have some food but I didn’t get any. I was going to go back to mommy but on my way I spotted the plastic thing the hoomans put their food packets in. Think it’s called a bin. I grabbed it and put it by the washing up bowl that I also stole in the living room! The hoomans laughed as I made a lot of noise trying to get it downstairs! Russ Xx
