You can tell Skip and Sam what your special meal is. It's Sam's birthday later this month so he'll be wanting ideas. He's rather partial to chips after he first tried them last week. x

Jed update still at the vets, still on a drip. The report this morning said he wasn’t as bright as yesterday and not so keen to eat I went up in my lunch break to find a bowl of uneaten chicken in with him as soon as I went into the kennel he jumped up and ate his food!!! He may be going home tomorrow Lottie still not keen to eat and quite unsettled.

Blimey, a whole year since I fostered the Asbo! Please don't tell them I thought it was tomorrow! Lots of making up to do, will be a special dinner, maybe sausage or fish fingers or fish and chips...who knows? Arry, we love you so very much, tomorrow you can spend the day with Maisie Moo your girlfriend at work and be spoilt rotten!! Updates on the dinner menu tomorrow!

Hi everyone!! Russ here! Going to update you on my relaxing retirement. I still like to steal the washing up bowl. I trapped myself in the kitchen! The bowl was so big it shut the door on me. Luckily hoomans saved me but they wanted the bowl back! I told them it belongs in the living room now but they still try and take it back to the kitchen! Hooman sister has got herself into a vets and she said she is going to practice on me! Send help.... I miss my girlfriend Florence but hopefully I’m going to see her soon! I am getting a big collection of toys, especially squeaky balls. Samantha came home from crufts today and she came back with two balls, a squirrel toy and some treats for both me and the hamster! Bit mean they should be mine! I’m stealing the sofa everytime a hooman gets up. I then kick all the cushions off! Hehe! I’ve also decided to take daddy’s pillow down from the bed just so my bum was comfortable! Hope everyone is well, Lubs Russ Xxx

Daybreaks Diary!

A massive thanks to our Wednesday walkers, the lovely Network team of 5 who came to do a charity work day, our college students, Helen and Stephen for their fantastic help today. I think in particular the Network Rail volunteers were surprisingly impressed with the kennels and the love and care the dogs get whilst in our care. One lady already has a greyhound and was eager to promote the breed. The weather took a turn for the worse this afternoon, but our intrepid helpers managed afternoon walks too. The internet was down for most of the day, so thanks to Dave for installing the new hub! We are fast approaching the Mothers day pawsecco lunch. There will be some lovely food for lunch and a nice glass of sparkling bubbly refreshments. Non alcoholic versions are also available. Tina will be offering mini manies, Mike will be hosting a book stall, there will also be a mithers day tombola and jewellery on sale including special Mothers day items and some new additions to the range. Tickets are available at the kennels or via our on line shop at £12 each. Not bad for a two course lunch with prosecco! Come on where else can you get all of that for that price?

Now have a poorly Jed been at the vets three days on a drip with haemorrhagic enteritis. Went to see him this evening and he seems a little brighter. Vet thinks may have been caused by his anti inflammatory tablets. Lottie however is really missing him and not eating at the moment didn’t realise they were that close never really showed it.

Just checked the cameras and Stan looks very settled after his neutering operation today. Xx He was very wobbly when we came out of the vets and by the way he was walking you would think he had just left the pub! 🙂 Bless him. Xx He was a big hit with the staff at the vets and had lots of attention during his stay! Xxx The lucky lad will be going off to his new home very soon. Xxx

Daybreaks Diary!

Another trip to the vets this morning, this time it was Stan's turn for his neutering operation. He was such a good boy traveling in the car and was so patient while we were waiting to be seen. He loves a cuddle! :)) Thankfully Beano and Queenies kennel was nice and clean this morning. They were both very happy little girls today. :)) It was quite a pleasant day and we had lots of help for walks. Xxx Thanks so much to Norman for taking Lou to the park. It was good for her to have a break from the kennels. She really enjoyed herself. 🙂 She is absolutely no trouble at all and such a sweet girl. Xx Thanks so much to everyone for all your help today. Xxx

Huge thanks to Norman for taking my beautiful Lou on a lovely outing this morning. I wholeheartedly agree with his comments - she is a little sweetheart who likes nothing better than to snooze with her legs in the air, but then also enjoys a mad five minutes of zoomies & playing toys - prior to more snoozing upside down of course!! Really hope the right home comes along for her very soon, but in the meantime she gets my extra big cuddle tonight. xx

Sadly Lou was returned to Daybreaks one month ago as she was not suited to living in a home with small children. On her first visit since to Brueton park she proved conclusively what a lovely temperament she has. She met close up dogs of all sizes with no problems whatever. She jumped into the car without assistance and travelled well. She also behaved well on the lead although like lots of greyhounds squirrels caught her attention!!! A very sweet affectionate girl she is certainly ready for her new home and one with a relatively quiet lifestyle would probably suit her best.
