Queenie should have gone for her neutering operation today but sadly when we arrived this morning the kennel she shares with Beano was not a pleasant sight....one of them had obviously had an upset tum overnight. 🙁 As we couldn't be sure which one of them it was, I took lady instead. It was one of those days when things don't go as you think and on the way to the vets Lady decided she needed to leave me a present! Fortunately is was a lot firmer than what I had left behind in Queenie and Beano's kennel. :)) Did a quick clean up outside the vets and drove back with the window open! :)) xx I am so greatful to lovely Yvonne, Vanessa and Zoe who carried out all the cleaning and feeding this morning. Xxx Despite being a little chilly the sun came out again today and we were able to take the dogs for morning and afternoon walks. 🙂 I collected lady later this afternoon, she was a little sleepy. Bless her...she is a cute little girl, do hope she won't have to wait too much longer for her very own special home. Xxx Thanks everyone for your help today. :)) Xxx

Donny (Dice)
I’m Homed
Handsome Dice came with me to Sheldon Country Park today. I had been told that he can be reactive to cars but I didn't think that would be a problem in the park! I didn't anticipate the remote control cars that children play with; he doesn't like these either!! He wanted to be at the front for the entire walk and he was, on occasion, quite strong on the lead. He was also quite interested in other dogs for the first half of the walk. He did settle down in the second half and eased up on the lead and walked past other breeds with no problems. I think he may need a few more trips to the park. He is a lovely lad though and someone will have a lot of fun showing him what the world post racing is like x

Dasher
I’m Homed
Handsome Dasher came with me to Sheldon Country Park today. He jumped in the car happily and made sure he got to see everything by doing several 360s before he decided on his travelling position. Once at the park, he walked calmly taking it all in. I think several people in the walk fell in love with him and I can hardly blame them. He will make a lovely pet. Hoping he gets his forever home very soon x

Ed, if by some miracle you are still here in a few weeks when we are ready to adopt, then I can't wait to meet you. You sound so lovely.

Flloyd (Lurch)
I’m Homed
Well, it would appear little boy Flloyd is on the Pet Blood Bank Facebook homepage. He gave his 10th donation this week, meaning he has potentially saved up to 40 dogs lives...not bad. If you would like to see his stunning photo sporting a red Pet Blood Bank bandana he is on their post of 25 Feb! Thanks very much to Linda and Paul for letting me know he was on there (I no longer do Facebook), so again thanks. Xx If you would like any information about Pet Blood Bank please call them on 01509232222.

It almost stayed dry all day, what a difference. I think we managed to put up with the odd hail shower. Thanks to those who took a kennel dog on the Sheldon Country Park walk. Lou, Dasher and Dice had a nice break from the kennels. We had two lovely new arrivals, Nell and Kelly, both very sweet. The didn't mind having a bath at all. Thanks to Bob and Gloria for fetching them for us. Stan the man had a visit from his new family. He really loved their son (I think the feeling was mutual). He went out for a walk with them on the afternoon walk and stayed very close to the son. He is a gentle and affectionate boy and the whole family received lots of kisses! Hopefully he will be going home on Saturday. It was so lovely to see little Daisy go home today. Off she went with a new wardrobe. She is still reluctant to walk very far, well actually a couple of steps and she's had enough! Her owner sent a photo of her later showing her looking completely at home and lying in front of the fire. Wishing her well. X Many thanks to everyone for their help today, as always very much appreciated. Here's hoping for more red signs this week. Xx

We actually saw some blue sky and sunshine today,It does exist after all. :)) xx We had plenty of willing volunteers to go out for walks this morning and this afternoon. :)) All of our residents enjoyed going out without getting wet! Although we had the odd hail shower!! Paddy's family came to visit him today, he loved all the extra attention.:) New lad Dice is settling well and several times when we walked past his kennel today, he was fast asleep on his back legs in the air! :)) Thank you so much to everyone who has visited the kennels this week with bedding, food and treats. So very kind of you. Ruth popped in to see us this afternoon. She is gradually starting to feel better. :))) We have two new girls due to arrive at the kennels tomorrow! Xxx Thanks for everyone's help today. Xxx

Ah now this isn't a level playing field, for days now we've had water pipes running everywhere and Jeff hasn't been able to close the doors , so when Carrie comes out of what's left of the Kitchen after eating her dinner I can go in and eat the tub of Flora because he can't shut the door and can't stop me because I'm sooooo Fast at everything, This Storm Dennis guy gave me an amazing playground anyway I heard Jeff talking to a nice lady on the phone and she sent a nice man who has changed it all so Jeff can now shut the doors to the Kitchen that's just so NOT FAIR, Carrie did mention before about the "OUT OF MY KITCHEN " game that Jeff likes to play s'pose Im just gonna have to learn that game instead, its a bit noisy here at the moment but I forgot one really important thing, I have a bed and a home ( Jeffs) and so do Jess and Carrie, I'm loved by Dad ( WOW get me first time I called him Dad) as Carrie is sooo loved by Dad and he talks about his Mummy and calls her AKA CARLA all the time but none of us would be here without a Medical Secretary who gave up her job in July 2006 to help us all out. When I get a bit difficult( and trust me I do get difficult) Jeff always reminds himself of what could have been and then gives me a pancake ( I'm not much into cuddles, I prefer a bit of rough and tumble) but Thanks Ruth without you none of us would ever have met xx Loads of Love Celia , Princess Jess and Carrie xx

One word sums up today - WET!!! Although as it was sleeting during my drive in to the kennels first thing I guess we should be thankful we didn't get any white stuff! Jo was off early on the Vet run as it was Beano's turn to be neutered. Bless her she was still very wobbly on her return this afternoon and didn't want her small bowl of food we had prepared for her. Hopefully she will feel a bit brighter tomorrow. x The boys & girls did manage a short walk this morning when the downpour wasn't quite so heavy. They may not have enjoyed getting wet - but I think they enjoyed all the extra attention as they had heads and paws dried before they went back to bed! It was a day when you really couldn't do anything, and afternoon walks were abandoned so we did grooming and playing with toys in the feeding runs. I have a soft spot for little Lou, and it was lovely to see her having fun with a toy. She thought that the toy in the next run that Lady had was obviously better than hers so, as Lady wasn't using it and had left it close to the adjoining bars, Lou put her paws under the bar and scraped it underneath towards her so she could play with it - clever girl! x It was lovely to see Lola again, such a shame about the circumstances. I tried to spend some time putting covers on the duvets, but Lola decided she wanted to "help" and I had to abandon my project as she kept sitting on the covers, and the ends of the duvets as I tried to do up the buttons!! Wishing her Mum all the best and hope she can go home again very soon. A big thankyou for everyone's help today - it really was a terrible day to be out if you didn't have to be and your support was very much appreciated. Well the weekend is here again. It is the Sheldon Country Park walk on Sunday, so I am praying that the weather vastly improves before then. We also have some viewings booked so keep your fingers crossed. It is definitely a red wine kind of evening - so I will raise my glass later to Daybreaks boys & girls, a kennel full of beauties each so deserving of their own forever home. xx Whatever you are up to this weekend, stay warm & dry if you can - cheers! Angie xx

No Snow! Hurrah!! :)) Although it was very chilly... Richard and Declan had a trip to the tip first thing, a dirty job but someone has to do it! 🙂 x Richard then went off with Bob to collect our new arrival, the very handsome Dice. What a happy lad! Alan and Declan did the warehouse run. 🙂 After a cup of tea and chocolate donut, of course! :)) It was a beautiful afternoon, lots of blue sky and sunshine:) I went out on the last walk with Gloria and Kerry accompanied by the lovely Penny and Ed. I was able to take my Skip and Lyra. Penny loved the new company and was bouncing along. :)) We have lovely Lola staying with us for a few days. Very sadly her owner has had a fall and was taken to hospital late this afternoon. Cath is a friend of Alan's and he very kindly picked Lola up and brought her to the kennels this evening. It's such a shame, we send lots of love and get well wishes to Cath and hope it won't be long before she and Lola are reunited. Xxx You just never know what's around the corner.... A big thank you to everyone for all your help today. Thanks so much to Bronya and Kerry for giving the treatment room a good clean! :)) Xxx
