Over the Rainbow Bridge
Russ had really made himself at home. For the first time last night he took himself to bed. He came downstairs with me at 1.25am before I went to work for his walk without being asked. Only thing is now when I pick up his lead he gets in his bed so I have to give him a treat to get up to go out.

R.I.P. Hot water Bottle, you were so nice to cuddle up to and you didn't deserve to be chewed to death in this way, I'm so sorry you soaked my bed and the carpet before you died , 42 dog toys and bones littered around the house and she chooses you

Interviewer: So Florence how does it feel to be adopted? Florence: What you taking about Willis? I: Okay - you think TC and your mom are like you? F: Well TC and I both prefer to snack than eat main meals and mom and I like to sleep a lot. I: What about how you and your family look? F: Well TC has a bald spot on his head and I have a bald spot on my bottom. Mom and I both have long legs. I think they aren’t as hairy as me because they are OLD. My bother has lots of fur which is long and my sister has lots of fur which is short like mine, think that’s a fashion choice! I: Florence I have to tell you mom and TC aren’t your birth parents. F: Get away with you, you’ll be telling me Father Christmas isn’t real next! That’s how moms dream went last night! Lubs to all. Florence. Xxxx

Daybreaks Diary!

It was a little warmer today thank goodness. Thanks as always to our Wednesday walkers, college students and volunteers. All dogs enjoyed morning and afternoon walks. Paddy had a gentle stroll around the sand run. We had a fantastic donation of dog food and treats. Thanks to the lovely gentleman who brought it in. All winners of Sunday's launch day raffle have now been notified, sorry if you didn't get a call! We very kindly had two edible prizes donated back to the kennels for our volunteers to enjoy, thanks so much. Our donation table is now back out, why not come and see if anything grabs your attention?

Poor Lottie not having a good time at the moment, took her to the vet with eye discharge which the vet thinks is dry eye caused by an auto immune so on drops for a few weeks but may need to be on them permanently, she also has developed a worrying cough so treating initially for infection possibly kennel cough although it doesn’t sound like a kennnel cough type cough, if no better then x-ray possible lung tumour and then to add to her list of woes she also has an exploding rear end probably due to something she snaffled in the field when I wasn’t looking! Fingers crossed the antibiotics work. The joys of being a greyhound mum

Ed has the patience of a Saint! He is sharing his kennel with Penny who absolutely adores him but wants him to play all the time. 🙂 He just looks at her with his big dark eyes and waits for her to calm down before resting his head on her back. His new photo show what a very handsome lad he is. Xxx

Lola

Norman took Lola for another outing to the park this morning. She was a little better with other dogs today...Norman said "She knows what she is doing is wrong but sometimes she can't resist letting them know she is there!" :)) She is the same at the kennels too and has a right old grump at some of the other dogs when she comes out for her meals. Lola is a super girl and a quick learner. She just needs a little guidance. Xxx

Aren't the new photos of the dogs great?! :)) Thanks so much to Lucy for taking them all and to her photo shoot assistants Shirley and Richard. 🙂 My favourite is Rose...what fabulous ears! Xxx Shirley and Richard collected a dog rehabilitation/walking machine that we had very kindly been offered. There was much anticipation to see it working but sadly there was a piece missing. 🙁 Its only a small item and If it can't be found we should be able to get it online...We are very grateful to the lovely people who have given the machine to us. It will be interesting to see it in action. :)) Thanks so much to everyone who helped out today. Xxx

I must admit, Celia is Hard Work, she is into everything, doesn't take NO for an answer and tries to eat everything in her path and doesn't care what is in her way between her and food or anything that might look lie food Why am I such a fool for Lovely eyes ?? I'm only writing this so I can look back in 12 months and realize how far we've gone but at the moment shes one Crazy Young Lady , Much Crazier than Carrie Ever was and shes also learned from Carrie that she can talk, Good thing is though when shes "Off" she is lovely to cuddle up to, When shes "On" shes a 42 MPH lunatic
