Over the Rainbow Bridge
Hi everyone! Today has been fun, I decided to pinch the fish and chips from the bin and eat them!!!!!!! The hoomans went out the room for a few minutes so I quietly went to the bin and stole the left overs! Oops... Florence I hope you find the puppy soon, if you do I want to meet him or her! Maybe those long sticks that your mom has might help us climb the trees in Ward End Park! Lubs Russ xx

Wanted.... Old jewellery. I know its a bit of a strange one, does anyone have any jewellery that they don't want, blingy, coloured etc... If you have could we please have it, we are putting it to good use to raise funds for Daybreaks. Please drop it into kennels for att of Jill. Thanks

Flo

Yesterday we finally made Flo's adoption official. Flo came home with us on 22nd December initially on foster to make sure everyone was happy. Unfortunately Cilla had a few issues & we decided in both Cilla & Flo's best interests for Flo to go back to Daybreaks. Both Kate & Ruth were fantastic in their support explaining sometimes things just don't work out. We like to think Nifty then got involved as suddenly Cilla changed towards Flo. We have had fantastic support from everyone at Daybreaks in helping us settle Flo & also helping Cilla to accept the changes. In the middle of all this Mark has had shoulder surgery meaning he can't do much for a few weeks. Everything will work out & we have 3 haapy hounds. We wouldn't of been able to get through the last few weeks without the support & advice from everyone at Daybreaks.

Florence (Westy)

Mom is home. Yesterday TC put me in the car and we drove for ages. He parked at big building and left me in the car, cheek! He came back an drove us for a very short distance and there was mom sitting in a funny chair with wheels. She had two long sticks which definitely didn’t come from where the squiggels live! The man in blue pushing mom and a man in green with a very important looking bag gave me loads of fuss. When mom was in the car TC drove us back to where he first parked and got me out so I could see mom and then have a wee, then we drove home. Again I was left in the car while mom went in the bungalow and then when I went in and she was in bed, I got so excited and jumped up and down next to her before I settled in me bed next to her. I haven’t spotted my puppy brother or sister yet but mom has got a weird thing on her foot and can’t walk me for 5 weeks. She says the ysbyty was an hour and a half away and I was a very good girl. I’ll let you know when I find the puppy. Lubs to all Florence xxx

Congratulations to Tanya, Mark, Nifty and Cilla for officially welcoming Flo into their family today. :)) All the family will be visiting soon for a big homing photo! Wishing Mark a speedy recovery after his recent shoulder operation. Xxx

Daybreaks Diary!

A busy day.... :)) Flo is now a full memeber of Tanya and Marks ever growing family! Xx Bindi was reserved and Harry met a lovely Greyhound young lady whom he will be seeing a lot of when he goes off to his new home. :)) Jess had a bathing and several customers for nail clipping. Xx Many thanks to Hannah and Patrick for giving our latest new arrival Daisy a bath, not sure she was too impressed! Bless her. Xx So very grateful to everyone for their help today...Xxx Xxx

Blue

Blue is so funny. I was tasked with the job of cleaning his teeth. I chose him thinking he'd be easier as he doesn't have many teeth! Well, how wrong could I be. He thinks it's a game so he had me chasing him around his kennel trying to catch him. I did manage to brush them. When Kate came in to see him he started rolling around on the bed whilst chewing and licking the toothbrush but also inviting belly rubs! I really hope someone gives him his forever home soon. x

Daisy

Daisy is adorable. She's so petite and overwhelmed by her arrival at kennels yesterday. She's clearly not sure what's happening but I'm sure she'll soon settle into the routine. She went out on the morning walk but froze so she was brought back to the kennels where she got a lot of fuss (and treats!) to build her trust and confidence up. Myself and another volunteer took her for a little walk around kennels and into the sand run. She was ok walking if treats were involved! She's clearly food orientated but that should help with training. She made us laugh as she refused SAUSAGES! She loved pilchard cake and would eat sausages if the smelt of it! She's paired up with little Pixie in kennels and they make such a cute pair. I'm back at kennels tomorrow so I'll be able to see how she's settled in after having had a full day and night there. She gets my cuddle today. x

What a lovely boy Ed is, he was a pleasure to walk today. After a little excitement when going into the kennel, he then stands nicely for you to lead him up. He walks nicely by your side at your pace and then when we returned to his kennel we had a cuddle and then he fell asleep!

I hear mom has been used as a pin cushion as no-one could find her veens. She had an ultasand and an epsidoddle so I think she having a greyhound puppy to be my little brother or sister. I've seen One Born Every Minute! I think she's come home today and TC says I have to watch her foot, wonder what it's hoi v to do! Lubs to all. Florence. Xxx

Daybreaks Diary!

Angie normally does the Friday diary but she had matters of very great importance to see to. So this is what happened today. The dogs enjoyed their walks even if it was chilly. Angie took Paddy for a gentle stroll around the sand run before she left as his leg is a little sore. Kenny paid a visit to say goodbye as he is off to live in Chester with his mom, he made himself at home in the office. Then pretty little Charlotte came in with her dad bearing gifts of sardines for the dogs and goodies for the hoomans. Her and Kenny seemed to really quite like each other! We had a gorgeous new arrival, Daisy. She arrived very late in the day so unfortunately we couldn't bath her (sorry Kate), and as we were feeding when she arrived she came into the office to wait for her dinner and to be allocated a bed for the night. After moving Paddy to a single suite, and introducing her to her new room mate she and Pixie got a twin room! They decided which bed they each wanted and seemed very settled :)) Thanks to everyone who came in to visit, buy food and walk. Volunteer Dave went on one of his mad 'lets see what i can tidy' sprees, I don't think he could find much. I'm sure much more happened and if I remember I'll let you know!! In the immortal words of Angie, I will raise my glass for a good week ahead. X

Paddy
Over the Rainbow Bridge
I had the pleasure of taking Paddy for a very gentle, short stroll this morning. His poorly hock is giving him some gip in this cold, damp weather, so he is on restricted exercise at the moment. Am thinking he needs some doggy leg warmers to keep the joint cosy & warm! Will make this my next project. xx

Don't get me wrong, I love to see you and you are such a good boy, you are taking very good care of your pretty kennel mate Zoe, but you really do need a sofa to call your own now.
