I'm so sad for you and your family that you had to lose Penny. What a hard decision to have to make. She sounds wonderful - we have two children aged 2 and 5, but are not looking to adopt until Easter, which is very sad. I hope she finds a loving home soon

My excitement level was so high! Mom went to see the hooman version of the person I like least while TC took me for a walk. Once we’d got her we got her perscripion and then she hobbled into the place that looks like a badly organised garden. I like it there because there’s a cat I see sometimes and babbitts and ginnygigs! Mom say to TC ‘can we have 2 blue puppies?’ Puppies, PUPPIES, where? I can’t see them, maybe they’ll deliver them like they did the big planter thing. We pay and come home. A little later mom says ‘don’t the blue puppies look lovely’. She’s looking at the fish tank, no don’t these hoomans know anything? Puppies don’t live in fish tanks! I can’t reach it to get them out so I tell SFF Maud to get them, she goes over but instead of saving them she just stares! HELP, the puppies are drowning!!! Sorry what? Guppies, did you say Guppies? Disappointed once again! Lubs to all Florence xxx

After we lost our Kallie in October we decided to rehome Penny after our daughter loved her as soon as she saw her. We unfortunately had to return her due to my daughters severe eczema, having a different dog in the house seemed to really upset it. It was a very hard decision to return her after doctors advice but we had to put our daughter first. We still really miss her & her amazing personality. She was great on walks, she treated our daughter like her puppy and was always searching for her to check she was ok. The house is not the same without her & we really hope she finds her forever home she truly deserves.

Daybreaks Diary!

It started off cold but sunny, we had most of our Wednesday walkers plus Izzy and Emily who are college placement students who came in during their half term holiday, thanks to you all. The office door has become somewhat of a problem. It decided it was not going to open and completely failed with Tig and Denises Charlie inside. We managed to prise it open and free the Daybreaks Two and told everyone 'DON'T SHUT THE DOOR', unfortunately as creatures of habit it didn't always work!! Several times throughout the day rescuse missions were launched to rescue those trapped inside!!!! Hopefully tomorrow with the 'help of a man who can' it will be fixed :)) It was lovely to see Dave and Maisie back (Dave was a rescuer on more than one occasion during the day, although I think he took great pleasure in seeing me trapped). Hopefully we have someone coming to look at the kennel block roof in the next couple of day's. Thanks for the generous donations of bedding and towels. All dogs had morning and afternoon walks despite the rain.

Dasher had a trip to the park this morning with Norman. They both had a great time, Dasher was brilliant! Thanks so much to Norman for taking him. 🙂 x The weather stayed mostly dry today so everyone got out for walks both morning and afternoon. I managed to go out on one walk....with one of my own dogs! :)) xx Lady is our latest new arrival! She is a lovely little girl. Lucy and Jill gave her a bath. I don't think she was too impressed! x Ruth popped in to see us today! She is looking good :))) Xxx Thanks so much to everyone who helped out today. 🙂 Xxx

Dasher was a real star in Brueton park today. He met small fluffys without a problem. He walks well on the lead and travels well in the car.He will be a wonderful loving companion in his future home.

I got up this morning to the bowl out the kitchen again in the middle of the living room floor. I put it back 3 times yesterday and cleaned the mess up after knocking your water bowl over again getting your food bowl. Toys everywhere after we put them away and little Russ fast a sleep in the middle of the sofa.

A much better day today 🙂 Quiet for volunteers, I am so grateful to everyone who came in today. Yvonne and Helen were fab this afternoon and fed all the boys and girls while I was helping lovely Zoey pack her bag and go home with her new Dad. She was very happy to jump in the car and didn't give me a second glance! :)) I'm sure she is going to be very much loved. Xxx Thank you to everyone who popped in to drop off donations for the dogs. They loved all the extra attention and fuss. 🙂 Xxx

I do feel sorry for my oh so tolerance boy Jed not only does he have to put up with Lottie’s exploding bottom (which is slowly improving but could be weeks according to the vet) and truly dreadful wind he now has to endure Lottie bolting her gold sprinkled ultra expensive exclusion food (which fortunately she loves) so fast that this subsequently gets sprayed all over him whilst he quietly trys to eat at a sensible pace. Welcome to my greyhound world! Still love them loads thankfully!

Hews, I don't think you could go far wrong with the gorgeous Paddy. He is a gentle loving boy and I am sure he would bring much love to your home. So sorry you lost your Cookie and have had a traumatic homing experience. I can only reiterate comments made by LM, I too don't understand why is still with us in the kennels. He is a real gentleman. I am looking forward to seeing you on Sunday. Jo x
