Last night went a lot better and he quietly slept which he did before his op. He is a great boy! He has definitely got better as he has started pinching things from the kitchen... Tomorrow he will be spoilt! He will have a new toy, little doggy cake and of course an official home with love! Russ will come back tomorrow with his own story!

Daybreaks Diary!

It was a busy day, lots of lovely visitors to have a look around and to drop off donations of bedding, always greatly appreciated. I was kept fairly busy in the office, so many thanks to Bella for showing people around. We had two lovely new arrivals this afternoon, Pixie and Bindi, so very sweet, they seemed settled when we left this evening. We are expecting more new arrivals this week. It was very cold but that didn't deter our volunteers, students and Duke of Edinburgh candidates. The dogs had morning and afternoon walks and it stayed dry. Thanks to everyone for their help and hard work. Don't forget to come along to our Launch party and help us celebrate our new found independence, Sunday 10.30 until 2.30. Lots of goodies and refreshments to be had. See you there :))

This handsome chap makes me smile. I made him a lovely neat bed yesterday morning, corners all neatly tucked and a nice smooth top. Well, he soon re-made the bed to his satisfaction, scraping the blankets up into a big pile and resting his chin on them!!! Bless him, such a sweetie. xxx

I came in today and dropped off a few pillows etc, it was very nice to be welcomed from a lovely tall blonde haired chap, sorry i didnt get his name. he was welcoming this is exactly what you need.. Had a quick look round the dogs and left feeling very chuffed that someone had gone out of his way to say hello. Thank you. xx

Thanks for your comments and I'm so glad Russ is settling in. Would have kept him for sure so he means the world to us! Poor boy must have been in pain, he slept silently through the night with Reggie, so we know he can do it.It was a pleasure to have him here with Reg and the general Crockmeister! It was great to see Sparky signed up today...he celebrated by having a wee on my bag! :))) We are so grateful to everyone who became failed foster parents over Christmas. Sparky, Boots and Knight all have wonderful forever homes! Xxx Jess had customers for pampers, including Kitty and Bobby. Kitty was not impressed by the hair dryer and gave Jess several "dirty" looks after her pamper was complete! Xx New girls Kylie and Rose are settling very well and are delightful, they would be a lovely Greyhound family! Xxx Many thanks to everyone who helped out today. Thanks Jayne for tidying the memorial garden. 🙂 Xx Xxx

After a restless night, Russ seems a lot better. He definitely found his bark and was whining in pain all night bless him! He must have been in so much pain. He ate his breakfast today and had his medication which I think helped. His been a good boy today apart from trying to lick the private part shell we say... Definitely loves his food and follows us immediately into the kitchen. We hope tonight goes well and hopefully he will be slightly more comfortable.... We absolutely can’t wait until it’s all official in a couple days! He is one special boy! We want to thank everyone at Daybreaks and TheRetroShed and family for taking such great care of Russ during his stay at the kennels and Christmas! He has definitely learnt a lot with his experience of a home! Xx

Your house collar off again? Well its going back on once I've fixed it, and NO the toilet is definitely not for you to stick your head down and watch the water flush away and just because Carrie can open the bedside cabinet drawers doesn't mean that you can eat what's inside, and " out for a wee" isn't a game when you go out before Jess and I manage to get Jess out doesn't mean you run back in before you've had a wee ...got it? , Hopefully, you have , love you Mothy xx ( I call her Mothy because she looks like shes been attacked by moths which is just one of the reasons I love her so much but shes definitely not the timid little girl I thought I was bringing home, those eyes are a devious lie designed to suck in, vulnerable Humans , like ...erm , like me
