2019 Daybreaks Diary!

I receved a call this morning to go and collect some goodies for the dogs. We would like to thank Asda Small Heath for their very generous donation of dog food, pilchards, sardines, poo bags and a box of chocolates. Thanks for their support. Jo x

Christmas Foster Report: We are nearing the end of Russ's Christmas holiday with us and its going to tougher than you lot know to bring him back! In all honesty, if we didn't already have 2 big dogs we would take Russ in a heartbeat. What can I say? Russ is one of the most gorgeous dogs I have ever met. Very quiet, polite, gentle, loving and considering he's never been in a house before - a very quick learner. I don't know if its because he's here with Reggie and Crockett and learned from them, but he sit quietly to have his feet cleaned, toilets outside properly, beds down quietly and is just a dream of a dog. He deserves the best forever home in the world! Great with kids and other dogs. Gets a bit excitable when he sees small dogs and squirrels etc, but to be expected until he learns. Walks well on the lead too! Someone please take this dog into your heart and home - Don't overlook him at the kennel as he does sit on his bed quietly. The twice we saw him, he just sat quietly on his bed and showed no intention of getting up! He will come to you for hugs - lots of them once he gets to know you. He's simply gorgeous xxx

4 years ago today I fostered Max after he was sadly returned. It was a foster up until 8th January, well as you all know that didn't happen. So pleased to say he was my first failed foster. He is an utter fruit loop and even though he no longer has any teeth, loves his toys and food, not sure in which order! We all love you loads and you make us laugh every day, especially when your tongue escapes. Xxx

Had a lovely update on Eric today. He has enjoyed his 1st Christmas in his home, has been so very well behaved and gets on well with his sisters. He is going to the vets on Friday to have a nasty corn removed. Thank you Jayne for updating us. Hope all goes well and look forward to seeing you soon for volunteering duties.

Seventh day with Boots today. He is still a great lad. Thought he might begin to get his "feet under the table" but he is no different from the day we had him. He can manage the stairs most of the time (a little help required going up sometimes) to go to bed with us and can last through until the morning to go to the toilet. He met one of the family's Kings Charles' Spaniel on Boxing Day and was fine with it, no aggression at all just got a little excited wanting to play. He is going to make someone a fantastic pet, pity it can't be us but hubby's adamant he won't keep him.xx
