Mom says I must stop accosting people, well really! I only went up to Paul at Cardigan Castle, we always have some love to share and then the nice lady and man as we were leaving. They’d thought about adopting a greyhound before and I could see they just needed some encouragement. Then there was the man in the shop where TC brought his Tide Table book -he looked like he needed a cuddle. There were the four people who came into WH Smith’s as we were leaving, I had to make sure they’d had some affection before they entered didn’t I! Oh and the lady in The Works and the one I passed on the way back to the car. How can you call that ‘accosting’? Lubs to all Florence. Xxx

Sending love and cuddles to Drew this morning. He returned to Daybreaks yesterday after his Christmas break with us. It was sad to see him return but hope his experience of home life will help soon give him a chance of his forever home. I can only really reiterate what I have said in my previous posts. For a little bit older lad who has spent all of his 6 years in kennels he was settling into home life well. He was clean in the house after the first day, slept during the night after a couple of days and was a very loving hound who loved his cuddles. He got on well with the resident greyhounds especially (which I must admit surprised me) our 4 year old lad, who he liked to play with. To sum up with a little bit of time to settle he will make a loving boy to add to your family. He would probably be better with another greyhound for company and to learn the house rules from, but not small furry animals. He is very interested in all the new things around him, and being a strong dog will need a firm hand on his walks initially but will settle as new things become normal. If there is window he can stand beside to observe the outside world, he will amuse himself for hours. Good luck in finding your forever home Drew. would have loved to let you stay but I think you may be a little too big and lively for my two old girls.

Poor boy we had made our mind up who to have on our sofa after many discussions. Then all of a sudden you turn up and we all feel sorry for you and the discussions go on again. We will end up with 3 dogs in our house because we all want a different one.

2019 Daybreaks Diary!

Well we have three dogs at the kennels today, Drew, Russ and Trebles. very sad to see Trebles returned but sometimes things don't always work out as we would like them to. Xx Drew and Russ both back from their Christmas holiday, thank you again to their foster families for giving them a great time away from kennel life and fingers crossed they will be soon be in their forever homes. Scruff came back from her Christmas holiday and then went straight out again, she became our our first Greyhound homed by Daybreaks Trust today, Ruth had the pleasure of seeing Scruff, now called Sally adopted by her lovely new family. :)) Hopefully she will be the first of many to find homes this year. Xxx We had a few teething problems with our new till system....thank you to Margaret for her patience while Ruth and I (mainly Ruth!) tried to figure out how she could pay for something via the telephone! Happy New Year to everyone! Thanks so much to all who came in to help today, we certainly had more people than dogs. :))) Xxx

Very sadly Trebles has been returned today. He has found it hard to settle in his new home and his owner feels he would perhaps be happier as on only dog. She says he does like to have you all to himself. He does enjoy going for walks and is ok with other breeds of dog. She is heartbroken to have had to return him. Xxx

We have welcomed our first dog back to Daybreaks! Russ has been an absolutely brilliant boy whilst out on foster and loves his fuss..... want a cuddlemonster - this is the boy for you!
