She's got a lovely older brother now who's very calm. She will be well loved I'm sure.

Day 3: we went to Sheldon Country Park today and had a lovely walk. He is great on the lead and no pulling at all. We saw a few dogs and was good with them. Little dogs he is interested in but still doesn’t pull just staring. As we were leaving the park two little dogs came up to him which were off lead. They were very intimidating and wouldn’t leave him alone however Trebles stayed very calm during this but when it got too much he did a little bark to get away but nothing aggressive. We are proud of him for coping so well! When we got to the car he waited patiently while we wiped his feet. Very good boy! Can I just say he travels amazingly in the car and we don’t hear a sound off him just lies there until he realises we have got out of the car. Loves his food and was trying to pinch my chocolate buttons and foster mommy’s crisps. He races upstairs if you have food! Slept through night again great. We watched back the tape from when we left him for bit which wasn’t long. There is definitely signs of separation anxiety but we are not giving up and will definitely be working with him through this. It will just take time! He is a lovely boy! Xxx

    I’m Homed

My mind runs riot when I am not at the kennels and I then take this to bed with my dreams and spent a night of stressing last night! Aggghhhh...... it has been such a big decision to go independent and a heck of a lot of work. Due to still waiting for another operation I am still unable to work full time at the kennels so although I am only at Daybreaks for a few hours here and there, I continue to work at home. The response I have had has been so positive and even with the news of returnees this has not put a damper on anything. I am just so grateful that due to the support we have we can continue to help find homes for the greyhounds we are lucky enough to help. A returnee is not a failure but just not quite the right home for different reasons. We are there not only to support the dogs but the people who come to us too. Thank you to everyone who helps Daybreaks continue. Ruth x

Well done boots and so pleased for you. We were going to have you but it’s strange how life works out. I have to help a friend of yours who needs my help. He is a real good boy like you but he needs to know when we go out we are coming back and not to get stressed out. Enjoy your family and enjoy that sofa.

We now have five dogs at the kennels, sadly Blue and Cassie are returnees, we will always welcome dogs back who for whatever the reason find themselves needing our support while they wait for their perfect home. Xxx We should be seeing the arrival of more girls and boys next week. :)) Those who were fostered over Christmas have settled back in well. Drew was happily throwing a toy around his kennel this morning. Shirley and Richard popped in to see him this afternoon. Xx It was brilliant to see Boots signed up by his wonderful foster family! He has a lovely Greyhound sister who is bigger than he is...he is such a tiny lad! :)) We had a visit from three families today all looking for a friend to share their lives with...Russ was very popular with everyone! Fingers crossed he will find his forever home very soon. Xxx Thank you so much to everyone for their help today. The five dogs we have had two extra long walks :)) Thank you to Mark for putting up two lovely new heaters in the back kitchen area. :)) Great thanks to Jayne for moral support with the new till! :))) Xxx Sending lots of love to Ruth tonight, she isn't feeling too well at the moment. Xxx

    Over the Rainbow Bridge

Day 2 with Trebles: He has been a delight so far and we love him to bits. He slept through the night perfectly when Deborah went to bed. He has got use to the stairs now as he came down for breakfast and let himself back up again. He is most definitely coming out of his shell a bit and gaining more confidence. He decided to pinch a snowman off the tree and run into the room with a butchers tin from the kitchen! We left him for 10 minutes to see how he would get on. There are a few issues but we should be able to fix them overtime. He is fantastic in the house and let’s you know when he wants the toilet. He does like to follow us around a lot that’s for sure. He is a fuss pot. We took a trip to Pet At Home today and he came along. He had a great time... well when he found out there bunny rabbits. Was great with children and other dogs. He did pay attention to a small pug but nothing bad, just staring really. We took him around see if he would like anything but all he was really interested in was the rabbits! HeHe. Anyway we decided to buy him a ball. He seems to love it when we got home. The only problem is there is a forever squeak in the house... oops we might have to hide that at night! Xx A report from Trebles himself: Today was very weird. Hoomans took me to a place. They said it’s called a pet shop. It was greytz but I didn’t pay attention to anything. There were some greyt fluffy things with long ears there and I was very interested in them to focus on anything else. This new ball is amazing I’m making as much noise as possible with it. Itz greyt fun! Trebles Xx
